Isabell's Shoes wins the $50,000 Martha Washington at Oaklawn Park on Monday.

Isabell's Shoes became the third-generation winner of the $50,000 at Oaklawn when she led throughout for a 1 1/4-length win in the race, which was run before a crowd of 33,310.

Pink Shoes, the dam of Isabell's Shoes, won the Martha Washington in 1995, and Fun Flight, the granddam of Isabell's Shoes, won the race in 1988.

Isabell's Shoes ($10.20) moved to the lead soon after the start of the one-mile race, and led the field through fractions of 23.20 seconds for the opening quarter and 47.80 for the half-mile. She went on to cover the distance over a fast track in 1:39.11.

Carlea sat in second throughout and held that position to the wire, while Kota, the favorite, rallied from well back to finish third, 3 1/2 lengths behind Carlea.

Terry Thompson rode Isabell's Shoes for trainer Jinks Fires, who also trained both Pink Shoes and Fun Flight. All three horses are owned by Patricia Blass.

Isabell's Shoes earned $30,000 for the win, her second from seven starts. She has now earned $81,300.
