NYTB to hold annual stallion season auction

The New York Thoroughbred Breeders Inc. annual stallion season auction will be held Monday, Jan 12, through Wednesday, Jan. 14, with offerings from leading farms in New York and elsewhere.

The sale helps serves as a fundraiser for the state’s breeding organization, whose stated mission is to promote New York breeding and racing and protect the welfare of industry stakeholders.

In the past, proceeds from the NYTB Stallion Season auction have helped secure the state’s lucrative purse structures and incentives, and future proceeds will be aimed toward protecting those advantages and investments made by horsemen.

Last year’s stallion season auction featured seasons donated by New York farms including Dutchess Views Farm, Keane Stud, McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds, Questroyal North, Rockridge Stud, Saratoga Stud, Sequel Stallions New York, and Darley at Sequel Stallions New York.
Recent out-of-state contributions have included Adena Springs, Darby Dan Farm, Darley, Millennium Farms, Pin Oak Stud, and WinStar Farm in Kentucky; Penn Ridge Farms and Pin Oak Lane Farm in Pennsylvania; and Adena Springs at Heritage Stallions in Maryland.

Donations of stallion seasons will be accepted until the beginning of the auction. For more information, visit the NYTB website.
