NYRA to resume family passes

The New York Racing Association planned to begin distributing free admission passes to the wives and immediate family members of jockeys, trainers, and owners on Thursday, according to the association's senior vice president, Bill Nader. New York Gov. George Pataki signed a bill permitting the passes Wednesday, overturning a 50-year-old law prohibiting the practice that had not been enforced for decades until NYRA came under federal scrutiny last year.
