NYRA hikes Belmont, Spa prices

JAMAICA, N.Y. - The New York Racing Association has raised its reserved seat prices for next year's Belmont Stakes on June 8, as well as its prices for admission, seats, and trackside parking at its 36-day Saratoga meet.

Belmont Stakes reserved seats previously cost $5 and $10 for all seats. The new prices are $5, $10, and $15 for grandstand seating; $15 and $25 for preferred grandstand; and $10, $15, and $25 for clubhouse seats. General and clubhouse admission remained unchanged at $2 and $4.

"Reserved seat prices may have been increased, but still represent a terrific value when compared to similar events in horse racing and other major sports," Terry Meyocks, president of NYRA, said.

For the Saratoga meet, clubhouse and grandstand admission was raised $1 to $5 and $3, respectively. Reserved seating in the clubhouse at the Spa jumped from $6 to $8, while grandstand seating went from $4 to $5.

Saratoga's general parking is now free - formerly it was $2 - but trackside parking increased from $5 to $7.

NYRA previously did away with general admission and general parking fees at Aqueduct, scheduled to go in effect Jan. 3.
