Northlands: Williams stays hot with victory aboard Hollywood Dreams in 3 & 4 Year Old Sales Stakes
Email
Apprentice jockey Scott Williams kept his hot streak going with a win aboard Hollywood Dreams in the colts and geldings division of the $50,000 3 & 4 Year Old Sales Stakes at Northlands Park on Saturday. Williams, who won six races at Northlands on Friday night, is the leading apprentice in Canada and going into Saturday’s card, he was tied with Rico Walcott for leading rider at Northlands.
Hollywood Dreams, trained by Dan Martiniuk, paid $7 for his front-running win over the 4-5 favorite Bond James Bond in the 6 1/2-furlong race. Points Alert finished third.
The final time was 1:17.20.
In the fillies division, Williams finished second aboard Pumpkin Hollow.
The winner, Regal Tigereyes was sent off as the favorite and paid $5.10. Regal Tigereyes was ridden by Stephan Heiler and is trained by Kirsty Luft-Nault.
The final time for the 6 1/2-furlong race was 1:18.80.

CLASSIC BRYCE went to the sidelines after tanking in the 2012 Canadian Triple Crown, and has worked solidly for a trainer who's begun the meet with a bang. The beautifully-bred son of Grand Slam is out of G2 turf stakes winner Classic Stamp, who's the dam of a grass winner. SEEKINGTHEDIAMOND ended a streak of seconditis when he romped in a recent maiden special around two turns on the grass at Churchill. The late bloomer possesses a fitness edge on most of these, and should be in the thick of the battle.
