Northfield: Wednesday 3/26 Analysis + Pick Four ticket

Race 8 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Jeremey's Pick Four Play:

1 / 1,5 / 3,5,6,9 / 1,4,5 = $24

Best Bet: TABULATOR (6th)

Spot Play: COLOGIO (5th)

Race 1

In an evenly matched field, (4) MASTER LAD PRO could get a good spot off the gate, which would make him a threat.   (5) VESPER AS has just been racing evenly but finds an inconsistent field.  (6) BLAZING FUTURE owns only one win in a very long time; use underneath.

Race 2

(2) STRIKING LIGHTNING just missed last out against a similar field.  (3) AZUR is a well-bred trotting stallion that owns a ton of back class but has yet to show much interest; command a price.  (1) CANWECHEATUMNWHEN gets good post relief and will probably be aggressive.

Race 3

(1) TWINKY gets the best post and actually has a win on the year, unlike the rest of the field.  (3) CLARKSVILLE JAZZ showed improvement last start after adding the top driver, and he‘s back aboard; threat.  (4) FOX VALLEY SMOOCH raced better than her line looks last out and finds a very weak field.

Race 4

(1) ARGON FIRE has really been able to crank it up since entering this new barn; short price.   (2) JUMPIN JACK J will be in line for a better trip than most of the field.  (5) GEM HEIST could pick up the pieces late from a fast pace up front.

Race 5

(7) COLOGIO will need to find a way into the race, but is facing an easier field.  (3) SMALLSREED has some early trot in the mile, which could set him up for a piece.  (1) DEPUTY DYLAN looks terrible on paper but does draw the rail in a bad field.

Race 6

(8) TABULATOR starts from a bad post, but he can make it two in a row with a repeat of that last effort.  (3) HIGH HEELS N SPURS takes a significant drop in class but doesn’t own much gate speed, which could put her in a tough spot chasing a game front runner.  (2) MISS EVA CASH has raced gamely in two straight but would need much more to pull off the upset.

Race 7

(1) WORRIES STAY SMALL finds a very weak field full of question marks.  (6) MECHANICAL ART gets a good driver change and should be a bit closer around the final turn.  (5) BUSTER MEE N needed his last start and gets an aggressive pilot.

Race 8

(1) TICKLE MY FANTASY scored at a decent price for the scenario.  The connections are hot and will be tough to deny this one again.  (3) INDEPENDENT SPIRIT raced huge last out, just getting picked off by the top choice.  (4) MAGIC CASINO had a terrible start against the top two contenders and ended up within two lengths, which was a really good effort.

Race 9

(1) UP FRONT STRIKING should be better third start back off a really long layoff for a proven trainer.  (5) CADILLAC KID just missed last out despite racing gamely and will look to hit the top early.  (6) NEAR THE LIMIT bumps back up in class after a victory and needs a smooth trip.

Race 10

(9) RUST BELT finds a much softer field than what he‘s been facing and was racing gamely not too long ago.  (3) JALEPENO is also facing significantly easier but could be over bet.  The pacer hasn’t done well here on the half before; use caution.  (5) THE MACHSTER gets sent out for a barn that is very inconsistent.  With a good effort, he’s a threat.

Race 11

(4) JJ NEWTON is racing gamely and a good grinding type who can handle a tough trip.  (5) PERFECT NIGHT could be tough to catch, especially with an easy lead.  (1) INGLORIOUS MUSTARD should be in a spot to win turning for home.

Race 12

(2) FORTUNE SAILOR might offer a good price in a field he should handle.  (1) CARELESS LOVE could be the only threat to the top choice with a good trip.  (6) MARTINA’S QUEEN is tough to gauge because the well-bred trotter can go some good miles at times.

Race 13

(9) JOJO IN THE SKY drops in class and faces a much easier field.  (1) RAMEMBER gets the best post in an inconsistent field.  (4) KNG ME is also dropping in class but would need a lot more.

Race 14

(6) SOMECAM picks up the top driver and makes his third start for a leading trainer.  (5) AE WESTERN INGOT jumped up with a monster effort from nowhere.  The 4-year-old pacer bumps up in class but would hit the ticket with a similar effort.  (1) COLOMBIA ART owns some gate speed, combined with the rail that could put him in the mix; use underneath.

Race 15

(4) MOSH PIT keeps the top driver, drops in class and goes for a trainer that can show big improvements from week to week.  (1) CATEGORY SIX veteran pacer does his best work up front and he might just get to do that.  (3) ITSOVALIGHTSOUT gets a big driver change in a wide open race.
