Northfield: Wednesday 2/24 Analysis + Pick Four ticket

Race 8 -$10,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Jeremey’s $1 Pick Four Play:

1 /3,5,9 / 2,3,5 / 1,7 = $18

Best Bet: ROSE RUN QUASAR (5th)

Spot Play: DIAMOND BRODY (6th)

Race 1

(2) GREEN ACRELOLLYPOP will offer a big price in a field full of question marks.  The trotter has flashed a decent burst at this level.  (7) NORTHMEDO DELILAH takes a good drop in class and just needs to find a way into the race.  (8) HIS DREAM GIRL trotting mare makes her third start off a layoff but is probably best used underneath.

Race 2

(9) PRINCE BEACON gelding makes his second start in a new barn and has room to improve off a decent effort.  (1) DJANGO gets the best post coming off a win against better.  (4) SHADY'S DREAM BOY faces weaker and can get a piece with a smooth trip.

Race 3

(8) ERGO HANOVER will be tough to beat with a similar effort to the qualifier.  (7) POWER STICK doesn't look the best on paper but has been competitive at this level.  (3) LARRY P has yet to win in almost two years; use underneath.

Race 4

(1) CULLENS BLUE JEAN twelve-year-old pacer gets the best post against a suspect bunch.  (4) SJ'S BLISSFUL GUY has been facing tougher but doesn't show much gate speed and needs to be close turning for home.  (5) UNADORNED HANOVER has just been racing evenly but has been competitive against better.

Race 5

(2) ROSE RUN QUASAR has only missed the board one time in his career and gets a post edge on his main rival.  (5) CHAMBORO AS adds lasix for the first time and is one of few threats to the top choice.  (1) MIDWAY BUSS gets the best post and looks in line for a nice trip up close.

Race 6

(4) DIAMOND BRADY had some late pace last week and should offer another big price.  (9) AWESTREOS picks up a huge driver change but could need a start. (3) JP ORAZIO has just been racing evenly; command a price.

Race 7

(6) ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN had no chance last week from a tough post.  The well bred 8-year-old picks up a top driver and beat slightly better two back.  (5) JESSE'S MESSENGER trotting mare owns lots of back class but hasn't been sharp; use caution.  (2) AISLING needs a good setup facing tougher; use underneath.

Race 8

(1) CAMCRUISER HANOVER gets sent out second start for the top barn.  (5) GRANDKIDS ATTACK picks up a good driver change facing easier.  (3) JUDE HALL gets sent out for an inconsistent trainer and is probably best used underneath.

Race 9

(9) SAND ROYAL BLU six-year-old gelding makes his third start back off a layoff and made the most money in the field last year.  He has some issues getting around the small track but if he trots he's the horse to beat.  (5) LOUIE THE FOURTH was an easy winner down in class last week and will look to make it two straight; fires early.  (3) TSUNAMI DREAM ten-year-old loves to win but would need some racing luck to hit the top spot.

Race 10

(3) ARNIES KICK START was much improved first start out for new connections last week.  The well bred stallion could have more to offer even against better.  (2) OUR MCLOVIN had no excuse last week; command a price.  (5) LOGAMOTION looks to take heavy tote action picking up the top driver.  The pacer has been off over two months and could need a start despite the nice qualifier.

Race 11

(1) MANHATTAN BENNY gets sent out second start for capable connections with the best post.  (7) JIMMY RIP takes a big drop down in class and owns a good burst of speed when timed right.  (2) DANNYS ATTHEDANCE should offer a nice price for the top barn but has just been racing evenly.

Race 12

(5) ROCKIN SOCKEM was heavily bet last week in this class.  The pacer gets sent out second start for new connections and has room to improve at a much better price.  (6) DREAMER'S CAN FLY picks up a nice driver change off a game victory.  (4) BEAUTIFUL RED pacing mare is best used underneath even in against a soft bunch.

Race 13

(3) PRIME TIME POPPA looks to be primed for a better effort with a big driver change.  (2) NOAH'S SHARK has been competitive against better but needs more to hit the top spot.  (1) SUNBURNED VERN gets the best post but is best used underneath.

Race 14

(6) LOGAN COUNTY RALPH doesn't look the best on paper but finds a very weak and inconsistent field.  (3) RAY'S WESTERN is capable of pacing a decent mile with a good setup.  (2) LIMA THUNDER gelding will be used very aggressively with a much better post.

Race 15

(1) ELECTRIFY is just now back in racing shape and looks very tough to beat; short price.  (2) MATTOX'S WESTERN went a decent three quarters last week before coming up empty; use underneath.  (5) LIMA RITCH ten-year-old is very inconsistent from week to week but has a history of popping at big prices.
