A Rocknroll Dance went over $2 million in earnings by winning the Battle of Lake Erie.

A Rocknroll Dance became a double millionaire and scored his first stakes victory of the year with a track record 1:49 1/5 romp in the Battle of Lake Erie at Northfield Park on Saturday night.

A Rocknroll Dance got the first call but was forced into the pocket behind a speedy Aracache Hanover. It turned out to be the perfect spot, as Aracache Hanover parked out State Treasurer through scintillating fractions of 26 1/5, 53 and 1:21 with A Rocknroll Dance sitting chilly in the pocket.

Meanwhile, 1-2 favorite Foiled Again was found gapping cover on the rim and eventually getting stuck behind a tired State Treasurer and finishing sixth.

It was A Rocknroll Dance’s night, as he edged off the cones around the final turn and simply charged clear from the field to set a new world record for 4-year-old pacers on a half-mile track.

Rockin Finish was second and Clear Vision rallied wide from the back to be third.

“At the five-eighths, I was just hoping to get out. When I moved him he just exploded,” said driver Kayne Kauffman.

With his second win in seven starts this year, A Rocknroll Dance increased his banroll to just over the $2 million mark for trainer Jim Mulinix, who also co-owns as part of the A Rocknroll Dance Stable,

“I’ve known all spring he was good and was telling my partners that,” said Mulinix on the poor start to the year by his charge. “He just needed to get involved in the races.”

A Rocknroll Dance, who paid $9.80 to win, will head to the Meadowlands for his next start according to Mulinix.
