North Atlantic turned the tables on Charitable Annuity on Saturday night with a length win in the $50,000 A Huevo at Charles Town. Prince of Windsor held for second after setting the pace, while it was another neck back to the late-charging Charitable Annuity in third. Charitable Annuity was the favorite off a nose win over North Atlantic in the $315,000 West Virginia Breeders Classic last month at Charles Town. The A Huevo was run at the same 1 1/8-mile distance, and was for 3-year-olds and up bred in West Virginia. North Atlantic ($5.60) settled into a stalking position early as Prince of Windsor took the field through an opening quarter in 25.04 seconds, a half-mile in 49.48 and six furlongs in 1:14.52. North Atlantic overtook that rival in the stretch and went on to cover the distance run around three turns in 1:53.46. The track was fast. Arnauldo Bocachica was aboard for breeder-owner Coleswood Farm and trainer Jeff Runco. North Atlantic is a son of Ghostzapper and won his first stakes race in the A Huevo. He earned $30,930 for the win, his seventh from 22 starts. North Atlantic has now earned $235,740. Weekend Liberty, who finished third in the West Virginia Breeders Classic, was scratched from the A Huevo.
