Norman looks to dominate

Cinderella Story, who has won four of her last five starts, will attempt to keep trainer Cole Norman's stakes streak alive in the $25,000 Majorette Handicap at Louisiana Downs.

Norman swept last weekend's stakes at the track, and to date has won a third of the stakes program at Louisiana Downs.

Cinderella Story will start as the 119-pound highweight in the Majorette, a 6 1/2-furlong race for fillies and mares that has drawn a field of eight, including Fran's Flash, fourth in the $25,000 New Braunfels at Retama Park in her last start for trainer Steve Asmussen; and Hera, an allowance winner who ships in from Arlington Park for trainer Ron Moquette.

Cinderella Story should go favored. In her last start she romped by six lengths in a six-furlong allowance race in the slop, covering the distance in a swift 1:10.74. She must get a little more ground in the Majorette, but her ability to stalk the pace if needed, coupled with the fact that she has won around two turns, makes the distance a non-issue. Gerard Melancon will ride Fran's Flash, who has worked well in preparation for her first start since Aug. 25. Prior to the New Braunfels, she finished second, beaten a neck by Cinderella Story, in a six furlong allowance race at Lone Star Park.
