No Its Not has new foe

No Its Not, who is undefeated at Delta Downs, will have to hold off the closing kick of new rival Seainsky to win Saturday night's $50,000 Delta Mile at the Vinton, La., track.

Seainsky rallied for second last out in the $100,000 Maxxam Gold Cup at Sam Houston on Jan. 18, beaten 1 1/2 lengths by Valhol. Before that race, Seainsky just missed in the $100,000 Woodchopper Handicap on turf at Fair Grounds.

He has worked well for the turn back in distance from 1 1/8 miles, and on Feb. 8 drilled five furlongs in 1:01.60. Gerard Melancon, who won an allowance aboard Seainsky last summer at Lone Star Park, has the mount for trainer Wes Hawley.

Brian Hernandez will ride No Its Not. He teamed with the horse last out for his five-length-plus win in a seven-furlong allowance at Delta. It was a career effort for No Its Not, who earned a 102 Beyer Speed Figure.

Earlier this meet, No Its Not won the $50,000 Marshland and another allowance to make for a perfect 3-for-3 record at Delta. Dale Angelle trains No Its Not for 901 Racing Stables.

Others in the seven-horse field include the John Franks-owned entry of Revered Soldier, who has won his last two starts, both at Delta, and Iwoodificould, who has won two of his last three races. Leading rider Steve Bourque has been named on both halves of the entry.
