No Giveaway takes Longacres Mile at 60-1

AUBURN, Wash. - No Giveaway scored a stunning upset in Sunday's Grade 3, $250,000 at Emerald Downs, coming from 10th in a field of 11 to run down Quiet Cash near the wire to prevail by three-quarters of a length in 1:35.60. Desert Boom finished just a nose farther back in third.

No Giveaway, a 4-year-old son of He's Tops who races for breeder Herman Sarkowsky, paid a Longacres Mile record $122 to win and earned $137,500 for his sixth tally in 10 career starts. By contrast, Sunday's one mile, $100,000 Emerald Breeders' Cup Distaff went to 6-5 favorite Secret Corsage, who forged to the front passing the quarter pole and held off the late bid of Karis Makaw to score by two lengths in 1:36.80. Strollin Slew held third after setting the early fractions.

Secret Corsage was ridden by Russell Baze for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer. She earned $55,000 for owner Jerry Jamgotchian while scoring for the fourth time in her last six starts.
