No easy task to separate top Louisiana fillies

Email

You'llbeinmyheart and Taylor's Queen, who both win more often than they lose, will meet for the first time Sunday in the $40,000 Fantasia Stakes at Louisiana Downs in Bossier City, La.

The six-furlong race is restricted to 3-year-old fillies bred in Louisiana, and also drew local stakes winner C.J.'s Star.

You'llbeinmyheart, 4 for 5 in her career, has never been beaten against statebreds. She won her first four starts this winter at Fair Grounds, including the $75,000 Battler Star Handicap for statebreds on March 10, and the $100,000 Gentilly Handicap over male statebreds on March 23.

You'llbeinmyheart should appreciate the return to the Louisiana-bred ranks Sunday after suffering her first defeat last out in the $100,000 Edgewood on turf at Churchill Downs on May 3. She also gets back to racing on the main track, site of the bulk of her career wins.

Taylor's Queen, 4 for 7 in her career, was a bang-up allowance winner in her last start June 20, beating open rivals over the six-furlong distance of the Fantasia. The race was Taylor's Queen's first start since Dec. 9, and she figures to move forward in her second race back for trainer Cole Norman.
