Nightly Ritual much the best

Nightly Ritual leveled a field of 11 Indiana-bred and -sired 2-year-olds in the $100,000 Indiana Stallion Stakes filly division at Hoosier Park on Saturday.

Jockey Rafael Hernandez had Nightly Ritual in midpack early before rallying on the turn and taking command to draw off through the stretch under light urging to win by 7 1/4 lengths. Trained by Joe Davis, Nightly Ritual has now won 3 of 4 lifetime starts and amassed earnings of more than $142,000.

Grandma Syl was second, with Mor Newtons Please 4 3/4 lengths back in third. Nightly Ritual returned $2.80 to win and ran the six furlongs in 1:09.80 over a fast track.
