Nicanor, full brother to Barbaro, to stand at Shamrock Farm in Maryland
Email
Nicanor, a stakes-placed full brother to 2006 Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro, will enter stud in 2013 at Shamrock Farm in Woodbine, Md.
The 6-year-old Dynaformer horse will stand for a fee of $2,500.
Nicanor, campaigned as a homebred by Roy and Gretchen Jackson's Lael Stable, won four of 18 career starts, earning $147,697. He finished third in both the Sussex Stakes at Delaware Park and the Three Coins Up Stakes at Aqueduct in 2010.
Nicanor's dam, the multiple graded stakes-placed Carson City mare La Ville Rouge, is best known for producing Barbaro, who captured three other graded stakes - including the Grade 1 Florida Derby - in 2006 prior to winning the Kentucky Derby.
Nicanor also is a full brother to stakes winner Lentenor - who enters stud in 2013 at Calumet Farm - and stakes-placed winner Margano, as well as a half-brother to stakes winner Holy Ground.

You know what they say at the breeding shed " Bing Crosby's brother couldn't carry a tune in a hand basket" it's too bad these brothers have had so much expected of them due to their heritage. None of them could ever compare to their famous brother but best of luck at the stud farm boys!
