NBC Sports has been named the winner of the Media Eclipse Award for Television, Live Racing Programming, for a broadcast featuring this year’s Breeders’ Cup Classic, the administrators of the Eclipse Awards announced on Tuesday.

The 2016 award is the network’s 13th for Live Racing Programming. NBC Sports televises all of the Triple Crown races, the Breeders’ Cup two-day event, and a handful of other nationally televised races.

The winning entry was the culmination of two days of coverage from Santa Anita Park in Southern California, a one-hour broadcast in prime time of the $6 million Classic. The Classic this year was billed as a matchup between California Chrome and Arrogate, and the two did not disappoint, engaging in a stretch-long duel in which Arrogate prevailed by a half-length.

The broadcast was produced by Billy Matthew, directed by Jeff Simon, and hosted by Mike Tirico and Tom Hammond. The coordinating producer for all of NBC’s horseracing coverage is Roby Hyland.

“I am extremely proud of the high standards and passion our entire production team has for this sport,” Hyland said in a release.
