Nashwaak Dancer day's top gal

CALGARY, Alberta - Friday evening is ladies night here at Stampede Park with six races for fillies and mares on the nine-race program. All nine races go at six furlongs.

Nashwaak Dancer is expected to attract plenty of attention in the fourth race, a $25,000 claimer which drew a field of six. Nashwaak Dancer has yet to prove her staying power, but was very impressive in her seasonal bow at four furlongs against similar company and is the one to catch as she breaks from post 3 under Ron Blinston.

Elusive Storm, from the rail with leading rider Quincy Welch aboard, appears to be a threat for the early lead while Miss Lucky Lou could fashion a tracking trip from post 2 under Desmond Bryan.

Sassy Sarah, stakes-placed twice behind Kaylee's Magic, the top juvenile filly on this circuit last season, lands in a comfortable spot in a first-level allowance, which goes as race 7. She drew the rail with Welch signed on to ride.

Greg Tracy, leading trainer at this meet last year, saddles Sassy Sarah, whose best effort would be good enough in this field of eight.
