My Misty Princess captures Bluebonnet Stakes

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - My Misty Princess, who was disqualified from a stakes win earlier this meet for veering into another rival, edged that horse, Queena Corrina, by a nose to win the $100,000 at Lone Star Park on Sunday.

It was another three-quarters of a length back in third to 54-1 shot Bonnie J., while Janeian, the even-money favorite, finished fourth in the race which highlighted the closing day program.

My Misty Princess ($17.20) trailed the field for much of the mile and a sixteenth turf race, ducked out some in the stretch, straightened back up and caught Queena Corrina on the wire.

"It was close," said Jamie Theriot, who rode My Misty Princess. "I didn't know who had the head bob. It was very close."

My Misty Princess covered the distance over a course rated good in 1:45.19. She earned $60,000 for the win, which was her fourth from 23 starts. My Misty Princess has now earned $128,986. She races for her breeder, Melva Lou Strehler.

Earlier this month, My Misty Princess was disqualified from her win in the $100,000 Yellow Rose Breeders' Cup after veering into Queena Corrina in the stretch. The trifecta on Sunday paid $2,688.
