My Lordship wins with style

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - My Lordship ($3.50) extended her unbeaten record to four races with a decisive score in Saturday's $109,500 Hill 'n' Dale Stakes at Woodbine.

My Lordship stalked the pace in second under jockey Todd Kabel, as Pandora's Secret set moderate fractions of 23.42 and 47.64 seconds in the 1 1/16-mile test for 3-year-old fillies.

My Lordship joined Pandora's Secret on the lead midway on the far turn, and took control at the top of the stretch before drawing off for a 6 1/2-length triumph. Sweet Problem edged Pandora's Secret by a head for second in the five-horse field. The final time was 1:43.63.

"We were hoping to sit off the pace, but my filly broke sharp," Kabel said. "She was running well in hand the whole race, and when I asked her to run, she gave me another gear."

My Lordship, who is trained by Malcolm Pierce, earned $65,700 in her first stakes victory.

The owners of the first three finishers received a season to one of three stallions who stand at Hill 'n' Dale Farm in Kentucky. My Lordship's owner, Live Oak Plantation, chose a season to Theatrical.
