Munificence wins the $50,000 Sportsman's Paradise at Delta Downs on Saturday.

Munificence's company lines turned golden about four hours before he won Saturday night's $50,000 Sportsman's Paradise at Delta Downs, when Greater Good won the Grade 3, $250,000 Rebel at Oaklawn.

One start prior to the Sportsman's Paradise, Munificence finished second to Greater Good in the $100,000 Southwest at Oaklawn.

In the Sportsman's Paradise, Munificence ($3.20) broke on top and led the field through fractions of 23.43 seconds for the opening quarter, 47.16 seconds for the half-mile mark, and 1:12.84 for six furlongs. He went on to cover the one-mile in 1:40.67, winning by a length and three-quarters over Reno Bob. It was another eight and a half lengths back in third to El Batallon.

Steve Bourque rode Munificence for trainer Jim Hudson. The horse earned $30,000 for the win, which was his fourth from five career starts. He has now earned $104,900 for owner John Murrell.
