Mountaineer: Seven Four Seven wins

Seven Four Seven hadn't won a race in more than six months and was beaten nearly 31 lengths in her last two starts. A return to the main track at Mountaineer Park, where she had delivered two solid second-place finishes earlier this season, helped Seven Four Seven improve dramatically.

A 4-year-old filly trained by Bernie Flint and ridden by Chad Murphy, Seven Four Seven ($7) romped to a 10 1/2-length victory in Tuesday night's $77,300 Autumn Leaves Handicap. Her time for 1 1/16 miles was 1:47.61.

Flint, who has a record of six wins, seven seconds, and three thirds in 27 starts with horses he has shipped to Mountaineer from his Kentucky base this season, placed Seven Four Seven in a spot where she had a reasonable shot to improve after she finished far back in the Grade 3 Turfway Park Breeders' Cup last month. The last time she raced on dirt at Mountaineer against similar competition in a stakes, Seven Four Seven finished within two lengths of the winner and earned a 93 Beyer Speed Figure.

Bold Bluff, the 4-5 favorite for trainer Niall O'Callaghan, never threatened and finished fourth in a field of seven fillies and mares.
