Moss named to state board

Horse owner Jerry Moss, a co-founder of A&M Records, has been appointed to the California Horse Racing Board by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The appointment is subject to confirmation by the state Senate. Moss, whose term runs until January 2009, fills the first vacancy on the board to occur since the election of Schwarzenegger in October.

Moss, 68, replaces Alan Landsburg, whose term as chairman recently expired.

Moss and his wife, Ann, have owned more than 40 stakes winners. Their current stable includes the promising 3-year-old Spellbinder.
