Moscow Ballet dead at 26


Moscow Ballet, who sired 19 stakes winners, including three winners of Grade 1 races, died on April 4 at Harris Ranch, near Coalinga, Calif., the farm announced this week. He was 26.

Moscow Ballet was one of the top stallions in California during his career, siring more than 750 foals with progeny earnings in excess of $20 million. He stood his first season at Harris Farms in 1986. His last foals are part of the 2008 foal crop.

Moscow Ballet sired the Grade 1 winners Golden Ballet, Dominant Dancer, and Dancing Edie.
