More winter cancellations

Six racetracks canceled at least parts of their cards on Sunday after poor weather from the Midwest to the Northeast compromised racing conditions.

Aqueduct in New York canceled racing on Sunday after five races, citing heavy rains and poor track conditions. Philadelphia Park canceled the remainder of its Sunday card after running just one race.

Four other tracks - Fonner Park in Nebraska, Mountaineer Park and Charles Town Races in West Virginia, and Turfway Park in Kentucky - canceled their entire Sunday cards because of poor weather. Mountaineer also canceled its Monday card.

Turfway has not held a live race since Feb. 12. Kentucky was hit hard two weeks ago by an ice storm, and weather conditions have remained poor since then.
