More to the Story makes Arapahoe debut

More to the Story, who has spent most of her career racing in New York, will meet a couple of Arapahoe Park specialists when she makes her first start in Colorado in the $30,000 Molly Brown.

The field for the six-furlong race for fillies and mares includes Vannacide, who is 12 for 30 at Arapahoe, and Illusive Crystals, who is 5 for 6 in Colorado.

More to the Story comes to Arapahoe by way of Lone Star Park near Dallas, where she won a $25,000 conditioned claiming race at a mile in her last start May 20. It was her second win in the region behind an allowance score at Will Rogers Downs near Tulsa in March. That race was her first for her present connections of Dale Arnold and trainer Kevin Favre.

More to the Story was based in New York earlier in her career, when owned by Darley Stable and trained by Kiaran McLaughlin. She won her maiden at Belmont Park in July 2009. Vernon Scantling has the mount on More to the Story.

Vannacide, a 9-year-old mare who won three stakes last year at Arapahoe, will be making her second start of the season in the Molly Brown. In her last start, she was third to Illusive Crystals in the $30,000 Ingrid Knotts. Also in the 11-horse field Sunday is Derby Cat, the defending champ in the Molly Brown.
