The third and final day of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. March sale of 2-year-olds in training under-tack show saw a More Than Ready colt take sole possession of the overall fastest time at one furlong, covering the distance in :9 3/5 seconds during Saturday’s session. The breeze show was held over the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack surface. The fastest worker, Hip 462, is a bay colt out of the Grade 3-placed Gone West mare Cowgirl Mally, who has had one foal reach the track. His extended family includes Grade 1 winner Teddy’s Promise and Grade 3 winner General Meeting. Bred in Kentucky by Joseph Sutton, the colt was offered at last year’s Fasig-Tipton Saratoga select yearling sale, but finished under his reserve with a final bid of $220,000. Cary Frommer consigns the colt at the OBS March sale, as agent. Breezing late in Saturday’s session, the colt broke up a 14-horse logjam among horses previously at the top of the leader board at :9 4/5 seconds. Saturday’s fastest juvenile at a quarter mile was Hip 605, a first-crop Point of Entry colt, who stopped the clock in :20 3/5 seconds. It was the third-fastest overall quarter of the breeze show. The bay colt is out of the stakes-placed Medaglia d'Oro mare Hug It Out, who has two winners from three foals to race. His third dam is Grade 1 winner Fantastic Look, who is the pivot point for runners including Grade 1 winner Designed For Luck and Grade 2 winner Macho Macho. The partnership of Nursery Place, Donaldson, and Broadbent bred the colt in Kentucky, and sold him for $15,000 at the 2015 Keeneland November breeding stock sale. The colt was later offered at last year’s Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July yearling sale, but was a $39,000 buyback. All Dreams Equine consigns the colt. The OBS March sale will take place March 14-15, beginning each day at 10:30 a.m. Eastern. To view the full results from Saturday’s breeze show, click here.
