Moore to ride first mount

Gina Moore, a recent graduate of Ohio State University and an exercise rider, will have her first mount as a jockey on Friday for trainer John Bourke. Moore had been named on several horses at entry time, but refused to accept those mounts, as she wanted her first ride to be for Bourke, who has been somewhat of a mentor to her.

Moore has been galloping horses for trainer Doug Cowans. Moore will ride Two Seater, a 3-year-old maiden, in Friday's first race. Two Seater was bred and is owned by Bourke. Moore was given permision to ride by starter Mark Herron and the stewards last week.

* This Saturday, River Downs will particapate in the 19th annual Jockeys Across America Day, a fund-raiser for the Don MacBeth Memorial Fund, which helps injured and disabled excercise riders and jockeys. The festivities will include a silent auction that will include a Steve Cauthen-autographed Affirmed Belmont program, and a Calvin Borel-signed Street Sense Kentucky Derby picture. Following the races, jockeys will guest bartend at AJ's Roadhouse with all tips will be donated to the fund.
