Paco Lopez, pictured aboard Open Mind winner More Than a Party, leads the Monmouth Park rider standings with 16 wins.

Paco Lopez isn’t dominating the Monmouth rider standings like he did a year ago, but he still leads with 16 wins.

Lopez was shut out at Monmouth on Friday and Sunday last week. He was in New York on Belmont Stakes Day, where he had three stakes mounts and won an optional-claiming race for trainer Jorge Navarro.

The hottest rider at Monmouth last weekend was Orlando Bocachica, who went 5 for 16, including riding doubles Friday and Sunday. Bocachica is now tied for fifth in the standings. Last year, he was the fourth-leading rider at Monmouth.

Kendrick Carmouche and Trevor McCarthy only rode one day each at Monmouth last week, but both had riding triples from seven mounts. Carmouche rode at Monmouth on Saturday, and McCarthy was on hand Sunday.

I'm surprised how poor the Sat cards are all over the place after a TC. There is nothing to play. If I was a new fan I wouldn't be to captured. I been sitting more than playing. No consistency.
