Freeroll, and jockey Julian Pimentel, win the $60,000 Lighthouse Stakes at Monmouth Park.

Freeroll, the longest shot in a nine-horse field, rallied from last position while wide to win the $60,000 Lighthouse Stakes at Monmouth Park under jockey Julian Pimentel. Freeroll was up in the final furlong to win by 1 1/4 lengths over Palaestra, who in turn had 1 1/2 lengths on third-place finisher Ballroom Deputy.

Freeroll ($55.60) was making her first start since winning an off-the-turf allowance at Monmouth by seven lengths on June 30 as the even-money choice. Trained by Mark Hennig, she covered 1 1/16 miles over a fast track in 1:43.34.

Habiboo, the 8-5 favorite, clipped heels and stumbled at the quarter pole, losing her chance. The stewards conducted an inquiry but let the original order of finish stand.
