Mohawk: Thursday 9/27 Analysis

Best Bet: MAJESTIC TARGET (10th)      Spot Play: SHES MACHS DELIGHT (7th)

Race 1

(9) BILTMORE has been racing very well his past few starts and I'm looking for him to win again. He's moving up in class, but I feel this is a wide-open race; looking for value. (8) SOUTHWIND CORNELL has a solid qualifier under his belt and I feel he can improve even more. (4) MAJESTIC IMAGE is winless this season in 16 starts. He's been trotting a few respectable miles when he behaves himself.

Race 2

(6) PETITE COURAGEUSE won at this level last week from post 10 and that proves she's competitive. (4) HIGHLAND DANCER is much like PETITE COURAGEUSE. Both have won at this level and the combination will offer a low exactor. You might get a little value on (5) WINDSUN T BIRD, who closed well last week and has the ability to upset.

Race 3

This race was very hard to handicap, but (4) ROLLS BLUE CHIP showed that impressive :27 4/5 final quarter last week. This is a weak field and I hope he can capitalize off that with a better starting spot. (6) SHOOTOUT VOLO has been getting better with every start and shows 1:57 speed. That should win the race. (3) TYMAL SONATA got tired late last week. I'd like to see her race from the middle of the pack.

Race 4

This was my hardest race to handicap on the program, but (1) BARN ART has shown improvement since the addition of Lasix. He went a tough trip last week and has been blessed with post one. (7) ELITE posted a solid final quarter and Fellows classifies his horses very well. (2) NJS TRICK PISTOL got parked every step in his most recent start. Look for him to be better.

Race 5

(2) SANDBURG HANOVER has been very consistent as of late and just got tired late in the mile last start. He draws inside for a hot trainer. (1) RUBADUB HANOVER won at this level last start, but I'm looking to get him beat. (8) GARTEH NOURRIR was a victim of a first-over trip last week. If he gets a cleaner trip, he's right there.

Race 6

(4) TYRANY SEELSTER got a very nice trip last week to be timed in 1:56. She's against strictly fillies in this class and I feel she can handle them. (1) PL FAIRLADY has been winless this season, but knocking on the door. She's always in the hunt. (6) DE LA NOCHE doesn't have the best record this season, but has been consistent in her last three efforts.

Race 7

(3) SHES MACHS DELIGHT raced very well last week after going a first-over trip. I'm going to use her as my top selection over the likely-favored (10) PALM PATROL, who is coming off two-straight wins. (4) ROCKTURNAL is a chancy play, but I'm going to use her as a longshot pick for first time starter Gregg McNair.

Race 8

(9) SPIKE HANOVER proved he can find the winner's circle from both post six and eight in his last two starts at this level. He has tremendous gate-speed and he's the horse to beat from post nine. (3) DEUCE MAN has an excellent win record this season, but has tailed off lately. He'll likely offer minimal value. (5) PRIVATE EQUITY is always in the hunt and knocking on the door. One of these days will be his turn for the winner's circle.

Race 9

(9) BURSTIN BUBBLES got parked every step of the mile in her latest outing. It was an OSS Gold Final and she will handle a much easier field in here. (4) BURNING BEACHES closed up a ton of ground last week and showed a respectable mile in his first career start. He can only get better off that mile. (6) DOTTIE HANOVER is a longshot play in my opinion, but finally gets post relief. I hope she's in the mix early.

Race 10

(7) MAJESTIC TAGLET is the horse to beat in my opinion. He won by open lengths last week at this very same level. (5) ITS ALL MAGIC finished second to MAJESTIC TAGLET last week and shows excellent gate speed. This isn't a deep field of horses at this level. (8) ITALIENNE GIRL is very inconsistent this season, but given the right trip, she's a factor. I'd play her if you get the odds.

Race 11

(2) OCEANVIEW BINDI has an incredible record this season with no money made because of racing in Prince Edward Island. She stepped up at Georgian Downs and I think she can do it here. (8)GRANDVIEW HANOVER closed up a ton of ground in her last start. I only hope she's put into play early. I wouldn't want to see her race from behind again. (10) PERTTY MUSIC raced very well last week given that she got parked to the quarter. She's been in the hunt all season. I'd have her on my triactor ticket.
