Race 4 - $75,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: REFLECTION HANOVER (1st)

Spot Play: BEACH GAL (9th)

Race 1

(6) REFLECTION HANOVER comes out of the Gillis barn and she trotted a strong mile in her first career start. She trotted her last quarter impressively and can only improve off that effort. (4) NOBLE FLIRT finished second in her latest start and enjoys being put into the race. She's a good option to consider off her qualifying efforts and latest performance. (5) CHIVAREE HANOVER has posted back-to-back qualifying wins and comes out of the McNair barn. She appears ready to drop time.

Race 2

(4) SHADOW BARAN enjoyed a perfect pocket trip in his latest en route to victory. He'll look for the same trip and has won two of his last three. (5) AMBLE OVER HANOVER is back in a class where he's most competitive. He'll likely be the first leader and may go off as the favorite. (7) WILDCAT ART draws outside, but enjoys racing from off the pace and a short field only helps his chances. He won at this level last week and comes from a high percentage barn.

Race 3

(2) FANFAN DREAM draws the two-hole and has a good record in his two starts this season. He may provide a fair price and shows versatility and the speed. (1) SEEUINTHESPRING draws inside and faces a much easier bunch. She's very capable in here, but hasn't won in 10 starts this season. (3) ELIOSE EDEN had a good season last year and qualified very well in her latest. If she can mind her manners, she's a threat.

Race 4

I'm going to overlook (3) BETTORWITHBOURBON's latest effort. He got locked in and didn't shake loose until late. I'm going to try him again and hope for a better trip. (7) ONE STOP DEAL went a very tough trip in his latest. He was parked past the half and still managed to finish second, by a neck. (8) CRUIJFF found the wire first in his latest and jumps in class. He'll have to step up at this higher level, but is capable.

Race 5

(5) WATCH THE RHYTHM has a good record this season and qualified very well last week. She comes from a top barn and will get a lot of consideration. (6) MAGIC PEACH scored a convincing win at Kawartha Downs in her latest. She's very versatile and has a good record. (7) SAMIRA HANOVER has terrific gate speed and that will likely be utilized. She didn't put in the best effort last week, but is a good option for the triactor.

Race 6

(1) SKIPPIN BY gets the rail and comes out of Boyd's barn, which has been terrific within the past few weeks. This filly raced great last start. She left the gate, sat in the two-hole and sprinted home in :27 to win in 1:55 1/5. (3) PALM BEACH HANOVER closed very well in her latest start. She draws well and comes out of Menary's barn. (6) HARE TO ETERNITY provided a 36-1 upset in her latest outing and shouldn't be overlooked again. She'll need a trip like last week, but showed a speedy effort.

Race 7

(6) BLACKBIRD SINGING is a good option to consider in here. He's classified accordingly once again and has finished first and second in his last two starts in this class. (7) LIFE SIGNATURE has been racing much better in his last two starts and now enters the Beelby barn. He's versatile, but appears to be at his best when he's put into the race. (3) GUTSY GREG draws inside, comes out of Moreau's barn and has a good record this season. He shows the speed, but needs that off-the-pace trip.

Race 8

(9) POUNCE HANOVER was impressive at Georgian Downs in his latest and looks like a top contender in here. With a repeat effort, I like his chances for Zeron. (3) LOKI DE VIE was very impressive last start compared to his previous efforts. Timed in 1:55 with a final :28 1/5 final quarter makes him worthy of the exactor in here. (6) HULA MAGIC ships onto this circuit for trainer Beaver and is fresh off a win in her latest. Her last-to-first win shouldn't get overlooked.

Race 9

(7) BEACH GAL might offer a fair price and I'm going to try her at first asking. She didn't qualify in a very fast time, but she used a :27 2/5 final quarter while passing multiple horses down the stretch. That tells me she's ready. (4) NOBLE JILLY raced very well in her first career start last week. She got away eighth and finished second, by a head, for the win.(10) BACKSEAT RHYTHM will have to overcome post 10, but shows terrific gate speed and she comes out of the Gillis stable. She also gets Jamieson in the bike and is a good option for the triactor.

Race 10

(4) UTICA BAYAMA was the favorite last week and delivered a winning effort. She remains at the same class and appears to race at her best when she's put into the race. (1) HILARIOUS HAYLEY draws the rail and has been knocking on the door in her last four starts. She'll draw attention in here and is a good option. (3) BERTHAANDGERTRUDE was flying at the end of her mile last start and draws well once again. She doesn't have the best gate speed, but appears like she's rounding into form.

Race 11

(8) ST LADS MORGAN returns to the claiming ranks and she's once again classified accordingly. She has a terrific win percentage this season and gets Jamieson. (6) ANGEL FROM ABOVE has hit the board in two of her last three starts. She doesn't like to win, but usually provides a price and has finished second or third in half of her 26 seasonal starts. (4) V C ASTEROID closed well last week at high odds. She once again may provide a high price, but draws better and Demers is capable trainer.

Race 12

(3) DOUKNOWWHEREURGOIN draws inside and comes out of the Town Pro final. This is a much easier field and she'll likely be the favorite. (2) JOLTS PRAYER draws inside and has only missed the board once from five starts this season. She also came home in :26 4/5 last week. (6) D GS PESQUERO found the wire first last week at Rideau Carleton. She also comes out of Shepherd's barn, who's Canada's highest percentage trainer in 2013.
