Mohawk: Saturday 9/7 Analysis

Race 4 - $75,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: SHES DA BOMB (1st)

Spot Play: MASTER OF LAW (3rd)

Race 1

(3) SHES DA BOMB didn't get the best drive from Jamieson last start and will look to rebound. She's still the horse to beat in my opinion despite the trip last week. (2) SOMETHININCREDIBLE draws inside and has a terrific record this season. She comes out of the McIntosh barn and has won three straight. (7) TAKE THAT HANOVER raced very well last week despite a post 10 start. She faces a tougher group in here, but is very capable.

Race 2

(5) ROYALTY FOR LIFE is fresh off a victory, captured the Hambletonian and is the horse to beat. (1) YOUR SO VAIN exploded off cover last week en route to victory. He draws inside and will likely race from behind again. (2) FLANAGAN MEMORY made a miscue last week and still won. He jumps up in class, but has a good record and won the Goodtimes earlier this season.

Race 3

(5) MASTER OF LAW scored an eight-length win in Kentucky in his latest with a post 10 start. He's won four straight and is very versatile. (1) CORKY will likely be your post time favourite, but I'm going to try and get him beat. He hasn't won in four starts, but comes from top connections and is facing stiffer competition. (6) PUNXSUTAWNEY has a good record this season and certainly is a threat for the triactor.

Race 4

(2) TWIN B IMPRESSIVE drops down in class and draws much better compared to recent weeks. He has gate-speed and that will likely get utilized. (3) ART PROFESSOR will make his fourth start of the season and is regaining form. He's a quality horse with a lot of back class. (6) IDEAL RACE has hit the board in four of his last five starts. He comes out of the Gillis barn and may offer a price.

Race 5

(7) MACH IT SO might offer a fair price and likely won't be the favourite, but he certainly has the speed to win this race. He's very versatile and a short field only helps. (2) APPRENTICE HANOVER was very impressive in last week's win considering he had some time off. He has more left to offer and will need it in here. (1) FOOL ME ONCE might be the favourite with his terrific winning record this season. He's a top three-year-old this season and will likely be put on the front at some point.

Race 6

(8) SOMEWHERE IN L A comes out of the McIntosh barn and will look for a rebound effort. That was a sub-par performance last week and is capable of stepping up. (10) WINDS OF CHANGE will have to overcome post 10 and got interfered with in the Metro final. He has the speed, but will need a trip. (4) SOMEWHERE FANCY is fresh off a win and that sets him up well in here. He draws well and remains undefeated this season in two starts.

Race 7

(5) SPARKY MARK has terrific gate-speed and closed extremely well in his latest. He likely won't offer a price with his back class and recent efforts.  (2) PISTON BROKE draws inside and has paced back-to-back sub-1:50 miles. (3) ROCK ME AMASTREOS gets major post relief and likely will offer a price. He's trip dependant at this level, but has hit the board in three of his last five.

Race 8

(3) PRECOCIOUS BEAUTY is the horse to beat after her victory in the Shes A Great Lady final. She's a top filly this season and has won three straight. (4) BEACH GAL closed very well to finish third in the SAGL final last start using a :27 final frame. She hasn't missed the board yet this season and likely wont offer a price. (2) LASTING APPEAL gets major post relief and is a top threat in here. She'll be better placed off the gate and comes from McIntosh's barn.

Race 9

(1) LUCK BE WITHYOU gets Gingras in the bike and begins from post one. He got a rough trip in the Metro final and will look to rebound. (8) SOME MAJOR BEACH might have won the Metro if he didn't get interfered with. He starts from the outside and will likely race from off a helmet. (4) CARRACCI HANOVER draws well and enjoys being put in the race. That was a great effort last week.

Race 10

(3) ELLIS PARK exploded off cover en route to a 1:50 lifetime best. He does move up in class, but scored a comfortable victory and can handle the class jump. (6) ASLAN has won two straight since arriving in the O'Sullivan barn and is very versatile. He also jumps in class, but recently won in 1:49 4/5. (8) WARRAWEE NONSUCH races better when he's put into the race. He's hit the board in four of his last five starts and is a good option in here.

Race 11

(3) SUNSHINE BEACH draws inside and is a top three-year-old this season. He's very versatile and won't offer a price. (5) VEGAS VACATION might be your post time favourite, but he wasn't on his 'A' game last start in my opinion. He's got a good record this season and comes from top connections. (2) SUNFIRE BLUE CHIP draws inside and has an excellent record this season. He enjoys being put in the race and will likely get that from Gingras.

Race 12

(1) ROETHBLISSBERGER draws inside and drops in class. At this level, he's very competitive and can race either way. (4) BESTINTHEBUSINESS has terrific gate-speed and has hit the board in three of his last four starts. (3) MODERN XHIBIT draws inside and is fresh off an open-length win at Rideau Carleton. He's a good option at this level.

Race 13

(5) LEGAL BRIEF moves into the O'Sullivan barn and that's the main reason for my selection. This horse is fresh off a win and has gate-speed. (4) BAY OF SHARKS returns to the Johnson barn, which has had success with him in the past. He's a top candidate at this level with his back class. (7) RED BUGLER has hit the board in each of his last three starts. He's raced from behind and came home in sub-:27 each start.
