Mohawk: Saturday 9/21 Analysis

Race 4 - $75,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: CROSBY’S CLAM BAKE (9th)

Spot Play: CONCERT ARTIST (4th)

Race 1

(2) CAMAES FELLOW might have gone the biggest trip of all and should be much tougher posted inside.  (4) BESTOFBEST HANOVER is simply unstoppable right now having reeled off four straight including the preferred last out.  (1) APPRENTICE HANOVER three-year-old faces older but does draw the rail and has put in a few eye-catching performances himself since the layoff.

Race 2

(2) PASADENA STAR freshman trotter is five for seven lifetime and looks to beat up on some weaker opponents.  (1) R CHOOCHOO CHARLIE has talent, the rail, and just needs to stay trotting for a piece.  (6) WARRAWEE PROMESSE lightly raced 2-year-old has good gate speed which could put him in a great spot turning for home.

Race 3

In a race with few contenders (1) WIND STROLL is really sharp right now and gets the best post.  (4) ORDERINGIN filly has the ability to beat the top choice and will be firing early.  (6) LEGZY could be the sleeper in the race after facing much tougher in her last two.

Race 4

(2) CONCERT ARTIST well bred gelding went a big third quarter in a route last out and might offer a decent price.  (5) LUCKY KING two-year-old was sent down the road in his division and looks to set up shop on the front end.   (7) PRINCE CLYDE colt looks to have a ton of ability on paper and could use honest fractions up front to close into.

Race 5

(8) CHELSEAS CHANCE might offer better value off the slow victory last out but she could have gone much faster.  (1) LENNY MAC filly draws the rail and has been tough to beat when she's stayed trotting.   (3) BIT OF MAGIC was an easy winner last out but is prone to miscues; make sure she's trotting on the gate before betting.

Race 6

In a wide open and tough race to handicap (9) MATTYS BIG DAY should offer a great price and wins at a good clip; fires early.  (7) CAMS MACHARENA filly has just been racing evenly in her last few but could upset in the right scenario.  (10) BETIT TO GETIT would be much higher on my list with a better post but is very talented.

Race 7

(1) DROP THE BALL world champion mare is on top of her game right now and looks to save ground before exploding late.  (5) ANNDROVETTE never had room to pace last out which could bode well for the final.  The six-year-old pacer will look to take the field wire to wire.  (3) KRISPY APPLE paced a good mile and has really been knocking on the door at upsetting this type of field at a price.

Race 8

(9) SKIPPIN BY well bred filly will be blasting off the gate and just needs a breather up front to get her picture taken.  (7) MOMARA two-year-old looks to be a heavy favorite on paper having won six times in eight starts but will be interesting to see if she sits in the pocket to the top choice.  (2) REGALLY READY filly gets a great starting post and has been improving in her last few.

Race 9

(5) CROSBY'S CLAM BAKE destroyed a similar field at this track two back and will be tough to beat with a good effort.  (6) SUPER DUKE was no match for the top choice last time they hooked up but is one of the better trotters in the race.  (9) PHOTO MASS has gate speed which he will have to use in order to get a piece; use underneath.

Race 10

(9) PANPERO FIRPO nice-looking pacer was roughed up last out but should offer a great price and has just as good a chance as any in the race.  (7) DULL ROAR is on a three race win streak but will have to be put into play much earlier than he is accustomed to.  (1) CLASSIC GENT has won ten of twenty-one starts, draws the rail, and will look to be up front close to the pace.

Race 11

(9) ALEXIE MATTOSIE gelding has a ton of back class and looks to be just rounding into racing shape.  The 7-year-old has won some of the biggest stakes in the country at huge prices.  (8) OK CAMMANDER can pace with the best when he's on his game and takes a huge dropdown out of the preferred.  (6) STATE TREASURER could be the dark horse in the race coming off a few breaks, should the 4-year-old stallion decide to pace he can flat out fly.

Race 12

(3) BIGTIME BALL veteran pacer got his first win of the year last out down in class and might be able to step up with the gained confidence.  (7) SPEED AGAIN takes a huge drop in class and looks to be tough with any kind of trip.  (2) TRANSCENDING raced extremely well last time he was sent north of the border; threat.

Race 13

In an inconsistent field (8) ANDERLECHT looks bad on paper but usually rebounds down in class.  (10) MIRAMONT should offer a monster-sized price and could use the right set up but will be flying late.  (2) CAMS TUX also drops in class but has a tendency to be far back early; use underneath.
