Race 4 - $75,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: SHES DA BOMB (5th)

Spot Play: IDEAL RACE (12th)

Race 1

(2) ART PROFESSOR made his first start since 2011 last week and raced very well considering. He closed well with a :26 1/5 final quarter and drops in class. (4) TWIN B IMPRESSIVE also gets class relief, comes from top trainer Moreau and has proven to be very competitive in this class. (1) ROETHBLISSBERGER draws the rail and has terrific gate-speed. He finally gets post relief and I feel Davis, Jr. will make the most of it.

Race 2

(3) CANBEC IVANOV draws inside and faces an easier group this week. This will only be his fourth start of the season and I feel he's ready to win. (6) FALCOR BLUESTONE has been racing well in this class and gets post relief. He's very versatile and is a good option in here. (9) TORNADO TIM drops in class and was timed in 1:54 2/5 last start. A repeat effort makes him a top threat.

Race 3

(4) ROCKINGCAM PARK ships north for this stakes race and her only defeat came when she made a break at the start. She's versatile and certainly has the speed. (7) TAKE THAT HANOVER has terrific speed and hasn't been worse than second in three career starts. She enjoys being put into the race and Darling's barn has been solid this season. (6) PRECOCIOUS BEAUTY has displayed the speed on smaller tracks and will ship back to Mohawk. McNair's barn has been terrific this season and she appears to have a lot of talent.

Race 4

(3) GRANDE SEELSTER moves into the Adams barn and that's the reason for my selection. His barn has been terrific this season and this horse should fare well on this circuit. (5) NOTHINGBUTMACH has finished first and second in his last two starts since the claim. There's no reason why he can't do that once again in here. (4) LEAFS AND WINGS closes very well and was timed in 1:51 last week. He draws well again and gets Waples.

Race 5

(7) SHES DA BOMB was a very impressive winner in both her starts this season. She won at ease and looks like she has lot more left to offer. (4) ACT NOW draws well and scored an impressive victory in her latest at The Meadowlands. She's versatile and undefeated this season. (3) BEACH GAL draws inside and dropped multiple seconds last week from her qualifier. She can only be better in her second career start.

Race 6

(4) DAPPER DUDE didn't see the rail in his latest win at The Meadowlands in 1:49 2/5. He's only missed the board once this season and will get a lot of attention in here. (1) CASIMIR JITTERBUG draws inside, has a good record this season and has hit the board in two of his last three. I expect him to be put into play this week. (3) UPFRONT HOOSIERBOY is fresh off a career best effort and comes from good connections. There's nothing not to like about him for the triactor.

Race 7

(2) LUCK BEWITHYOU won't go off at 19-1 again this week. He's regally-bred and the fastest freshman in Canada so far this season. (9) BEAT THE DRUM comes out of Coleman's barn and won in her debut last start. He has the speed, but may need a trip from the outside. (6) ARI ALLSTAR comes from the Gillis barn and has been racing very well in his last two starts. He also draws better and should get a cleaner trip.

Race 8

(1) ASLAN moves into the O'Sullivan barn and that's the reason for my selection. He gets the rail and gets McNair. (4) MACH IT PAID recently moved into Moreau's barn and the connections found immediate results. He moves onto this circuit, but is playable in this bottom condition. (5) CASHEM IN has hit the board in his last two starts in this class and should provide a price. Zeron is on him, which is a plus.

Race 9

(3) WESTERN VINTAGE is undefeated this season and last was won impressively. He draws well and is the horse to beat. (2) TWIN B SPEEDO finished second in world record time after getting a pocket trip. He displayed the speed and likely will offer a low price. (6) FOR A BETTOR TIME raced very well last week despite not winning. That was a solid mile he put in and you can't count out a Coleman entry.

Race 10

(8) MAJOR TRICK has won back-to-back races and looks like the best in this race on paper. Menary's barn has been on fire as of late and this horse gets Jamieson in the bike. (9) WINDS OF CHANGE got interfered with last week, so I'm going to overlook that raceline. In his two previous starts he raced very well and shows versatility. He also comes out of the Toscano barn.

Race 11

(3) BETTOR AGAIN qualified well both times and is at a level where he has the speed and back class to win. He won in 1:48 2/5 last year at Mohawk. (7) ANDERLECHT drops out of the Preferred class and is certainly a top threat at this level. He has the speed and I like that Waples in back in the bike. (2) ALSACE HANOVER was the favourite last week at a lower class and failed to win. He put in a terrific effort and that should translate into another good mile here.

Race 12

(7) IDEAL RACE finished in the runner-up position in both of his recent starts. He's due to win in this class and it may come in here. He has the back-class and the connections on his side. (4) LIFEIMITTATESART draws well and closed very well last week. He usually provides a price and that likely will continue. (3) COOL ROCK races off a helmet and he draws well again. Christoforou can dictate the trip from the inside and he's a good option in here.
