Best Bet: STORMONT CHEF (7th) Spot Play: MAGICAL GLIDER (2nd) Race 1 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool PICK 5: 4,5,6,8/3,8/5,7/3,5,7/5,8 = $19.60 EARLY PICK 4: 3,5,7/5,8/4,6,8/9,10 = $36 LATE PICK 4: 9,10/4,7,9/2,6,9/6,8 = $36 MEET STATS: 107 - 291 / $657.70  BEST BETS: 18 - 30 / $65.30 SPOT PLAYS: 13 - 29 / $84.70 Race 1 This is a very tough card with many races that could produce upsets. We'll kick it off with (4) NORTHERN RULER, who comes off a decent Grassroots try and faces easier here. (5) TAKTER got a clean line from a bad post last time and he kicked home in 28 flat. He can improve sharply here if he stays flat. (8) KIMCO KID is a $67K Lexington buy that goes for a barn that can strike right away; consider. (6) MISTER MAGIC seems to have some talent, but he also has gait issues which makes him a bit of a guessing game at this point. Race 2 (3) MAGICAL GLIDER closed for second in a back 1/2 that was four seconds faster than the first one in a very good debut race. She gets my top call here. (8) PRINCESS STEPHANIE showed some nice early speed in her sophomore debut and she could take these a long way. The winner of that race came back to lose an OSS Gold race by an inch. (6) SHEZA CHUNKYMONKEY is the only 2-time winner in the field and her qualifier was okay; using. (5) KANT AFFORD IT could wake up with a much better effort here moving in to the middle of the gate. She's another worthy of exotics consideration. Race 3 (7) SHADOWOFHERSMILE chased much better last time in a Grassroots race and she wasn't embarrassed. She has a big shot here. (5) KEEN AS A BEAN raced well in this class two starts back before a failed Grassroots attempt. She can give a much better account here. (6) B FIFTEEN should hit the board here, but she will likely get bet and she's a mare that I will continue to try to beat considering her record. (1) SCOTIANNANCYDIANE should improve off her opener and a different trip should see her land a share this time. Race 4 (5) LISBURN raced very well from the 10-hole in his Mohawk debut, and this should be a much easier spot; top call. (7) NOTABADGAME lands in a good spot to kick off his sophomore season and he could break his maiden here if driven aggressively. (3) BARN ONE shows methodical improvement and he's not out of this. (2) MASTER FASTER will likely have his seconditis string broken here, but he can take a smaller share. Race 5 (8) JAYPORT DELILAH showed big early speed in her debut which should be a good springboard to this Grassroots dash. She gets the nod. (5) ALLERAGE STARGAZER took a mark at Mohawk last year and she picks up Christoforou here; using. (4) MELANIE G has been racing okay out of town and Roy should get her on the board here. (9) MILLER TIME's good early speed can get her in position to take home a piece of this purse. Race 6 (4) CABOWABOCUTTIE comes off a very good effort from the worst post and she stands a good chance to break her maiden vs. these. (6) COSETTE took a shuffle in the same race but she wasn't far behind the choice at the wire; using. (8) CLASSIC BLACKJACK's race two back when in against maidens stacks up well against these and she should be a square price here. She's in with an outside shot. (5) KEEP FOCUSED took some money for her debut then was driven conservatively. She's not out of this if a more aggressive approach is in the plan. Race 7 (10) STORMONT CHEF holds at least a two-second speed advantage on her rivals here and I expect an aggressive Phil Hudon drive in this spot. (9) SENORITA BONITA missed two weeks prior to her last start and she gets her favorite driver back for this. There is upset possibilities here. (5) EZEE TIGUAN's 2:02 flat mile doesn't get the heart racing on a night where there were track records broken at London. I expect his winning streak to end here. (3) FACTS OR THEORY was a winner in a claimer at Grand River on Monday night and she comes right back here. She can take a slice. Race 8 (4) YOUOOKILIS was claimed by Moreau out of a decent effort in the slop last week. I'll give him a slight nod over (9) MARQUIS VOLO, who - at least for now - appears to have been fixed up by Baillargeon. (7) THE POWER OF MANY cut the mile in the rain from the 10-hole in a sharp effort and Puddy may have her ready to win one; using. (3) TUSCANS MEMORY is worth a look off the Shepherd claim, but these types have been getting pounded at the windows lately with mixed results. Race 9 (2) MAJESTIC FIRE is one I'll side with here as strictly a connections play as trainer Steacy strikes often in these Grassroots races, many times at a price. (9) WHAT CHAPTER is the one to beat coming off a sharp first-over win. (6) TYMAL TINO drops out of the OSS Gold and he has improving form. I'll stick him on my late Pick 4 ticket. (4) CARSON HILL is always a good one to use underneath, it seems. Race 10 (6) LIFELONG DREAM was just short last time in a quick Grassroots mile and she holds a post advantage over the filly that beat here this time; top call. (8) HELLO LOVE is obviously sharp and talented, but she may not get the same aggressive steer here, so I couldn't take a low price. (10) PRECISION HANOVER is racing well and she may get ignored by bettors starting from out there; consider using underneath. (4) MITTANY NICOLE was behind the top two last time and a similar effort and result is likely here. (7) DAVINCI CODE has been very good racing against much easier, but this is a tough test. I'll use her on the bottom rungs of the Super and High 5. [DRF HARNESS NEWSLETTER: Sign Up for the FREE DRF Harness Newsletter. Fresh content and insights delivered each Thursday.]
