Best Bet: EASY LOVER HANOVER (2nd) Spot Play: HUMBOLDT (7th) MEET STATS: 37 - 112 / $222.80   BEST BETS: 5 - 11 / $14.50 SPOT PLAYS: 6 - 10 / $33.50 Race 1 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool PICK 5: 4,5,7/1/3,7/1,4,9/1,3,9 = $10.80 EARLY PICK 4: 1,4,9/1,3,9/2,4,5/1 - $27 LATE PICK 4: 2,7,8/2,3,8/4,6/2,8 = $36 Race 1 (4) FIRST CAR endured a long trip with a foreign driver at the controls last time. He gets a more familiar pilot here and he can bounce back in this spot. (5) WEATHERLY seems to fit this class well and he is another who should get put into this race. (7) MUSSELSFRMBRUSSELS was used hard early then tired late in his first start for ice-cold Moreau, who won't stay this cold forever. I'll use him in the Pick 5. (2) SENIOR K can compete at this level if he can stay flat this time. Race 2 (1) EASY LOVER HANOVER went a big uncovered trip last time to double up and drawing inside in this short field, he should get an easier trip and take another. (5) ELLIS PARK is a classy veteran who will be flying late again no doubt; exacta factor. (3) FOOL ME ONCE has hit his best stride and he should challenge Ellis Park for 2nd here. (4) NIRVANA SEELSTER is always an early threat and he can get brave if left alone on the engine, although I don't see that happening here. Race 3 (3) JAKE was sharp in his return, but another rival making his seasonal bow got away on the field. He should be even better here; top call. (7) REGAL MAGICIAN - when he stays flat - is always passing horses late using his lethal kick. He's the other one I'll use in the Pick 5. (9) TWOFOURROADIE came from an impossible spot to win his last and he should be closing here again to take at least a slice. (8) THE ERM had a solid campaign last year and she's worth a look for the bottom of the exotics here. Race 4 (4) MACHAL JORDAN tried hard last week but was just beat by better rivals. He fits well here and he should be right there at the wire. (1) MCKINNEY has paced two phenomenal miles in a row on the rim and he's impossible for me to leave out considering how sharp he has been. (9) CHAMPAGNE PHIL is the class of the field and he drops off an even comeback try. If McClure sends him, look out. (3) SINGLE WHITE SOCK is a hard trier who should take another share here. Race 5 (1) BILLS FELLA faces easier here and he should be able to pick up some cover in this spot. That's when he does his best. He gets my nod. (9) NICKLE BAG has been racing well with Jamieson at the controls and he should pop soon; using. (3) DEEPFAVE HANOVER couldn't catch a class-dropper last week and he steps up now. He should be in contention, but another small share is likely for him here. (6) HES A SENSATION is a great one to use underneath, but he rarely wins. Race 6 (4) EXEMPLAR takes a big drop off a solid effort. A short-priced win is expected here. (5) SLIP INTO GLIDE hasn't raced in a year, but he won't have to improve much on his solid qualifier to contend here. (2) GREAT MAGIC was opportunistic last time, opening up a big advantage as he took over from a tiring leader. Still, that was a big mile and he merits respect off that effort. (1) IONIA should sit a good trip and slide onto the ticket here. Race 7 (1) HUMBOLDT was inexplicably overlooked by everybody - including me - last week and he rolled up late for a solid win. Right back in the same class, he gets top call. (4) NASCAR SEELSTER raced well and was overtaken only late by the choice. It could come down to these two again. (9) JIMMY FREIGHT kicks off his sophomore campaign vs. his elders and I expect with stakes engagements coming later this month that he will be driven conservatively and come on late for a smaller share. (2) TUXEDO BAY is always in the thick of things in this class. I'll use him underneath here. Race 8 (7) IMSPORTY paced a strong uncovered mile off the claim to win last time and he should offer a good price here stepping up. I'll stick with him. (8) JINS SHARK is an obvious contender on the class drop, but post 8 may not be best for him; mixed feelings with this gelding. (2) IDEAL JET is always a threat racing on or near the lead and he produced some quick wins here last year; using. (1) CLASSY DRAGON should take a share vs. these. Race 9 (3) EXHILARATED finally ended the win skein of the two Moreau trainees in this class last week and those two mares are now replaced by the classy (8) SANDBETWEENURTOES. Slight nod to the former but if the latter is ready, she is the class here, obviously. (2) CIRCLE THE PAGE took a ton of support then broke stride last time. Her race two back puts her right there with these if she can find it here. (5) LAY LADY LAY can close late to hit the ticket. Race 10 (6) SHADES OF BAY gets Henry back and likely drops and pops here. (4) TRACEUR HANOVER also faces easier and he should be the main challenger. (3) MODERN REFLECTION stepped up to the top class off a career-best win, but he finished with broken equipment. He should rebound with a better try here. (1) ISITFRIDAYYET missed some time and he couldn't go with the choice late. He should go better here. Race 11 (2) TASTE OF HISTORY made a big move last time, but he covered up the eventual winner who was very strong that night. He should be tough vs. these. (8) HURRICANE BEACH takes a sizable class drop here and immediate improvement is likely. (3) ROCK N FANTASY gets a familiar driver back here which should put him back into contention. (10) OLLIESTRIKESFAME, handicapped by post, should come late for a small share only. (7) THIS IS MY SONG is another who should be passing some horses late to share.
