Best Bet: SHADES OF BAY (7th) Spot Play: IMSPORTY (4th) Race 1 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool PICK 5: 1,3/1,3,7/3/5/3,4,8 = $3.60 EARLY PICK 4: 1,5,6/3,4,8/6/7 = $9 LATE PICK 4: 7/2,4/2/1,2,3,4,6,8 = $12 MEET STATS: 64 - 192 / $404.20  BEST BETS: 10 - 19 / $29.50 SPOT PLAYS: 9 - 18 / $52.60 Race 1 (1) NICKLE BAG was on too much cover last time, but he still closed strongly. Moving inside, tonight should be his night. (3) COOL ROCK takes a big class plunge and could easily go off chalk here. Don't be shocked when he changes tactics and blasts off the gate here. (6) THORN IN YOUR SIDE comes off a sharp front-end try and he is a contender here. (4) SUNNY BEACH DAY won for the first time in a long while last week. While he's in good form, he'll have to beat me again here as I don't see him doubling up. Race 2 (7) RED JOHN faces much easier here after trying the Confederation Cup elims and his race two back beats these. (1) DREAMY FELLA can be very good when he is on his game as noted here last week. I'll use him in the Pick 5. (3) MACHAL JORDAN drops and can close late for a slice vs. these. (6) PLAY IT AGAIN SAM was deftly steered from the inside to the far outside in mid-stretch then zoomed by to get the win last week. In this group, I see him closing late for a small piece. Race 3 (3) KADABRA QUEEN had a perfect tightener vs. some salty elders last week. It's go time now for some big money. (6) ILLUSIONEESTA has been better so far this year and she can complete a chalky exacta here. (7) APPRENTICE M can be expected to improve here and make the ticket. (4) DALLIANCE SEELSTER is also back with her own age group here and she has some exotics appeal. Race 4 (5) IMSPORTY was in an impossible spot last week and the race before he was full of pace in the lane. Now he goes for a barn that excels off the claim and he could be a good price; top call. (1) MCKINNEY has hit his best stride lately and he is another that could get overlooked here; using on multi-race tickets. (6) SHADOW MARGEAUX can be a threat here racing close up, likely in the pocket. (8) CLASSIC PRO has the look of an overbet chalk here and I'm playing to beat him. Race 5 (8) COURTLY CHOICE is supposed to beat this group in preparation for some big stakes in June; top call. (4) TALBOT ROMEO was very impressive in his season's debut and he is likely the only one in this group that can provide a challenge to the choice. (3) OLLIESTRIKESFAME is an honest hard trier who gets a much better post here. He should make the ticket. (5) TIGERS WAY can close with a nice rush on his best day and he can appear on the scene late here to take a slice. Race 6 (6) PERCY BLUECHIP is a top-class filly who should beat this group even if she isn't fully cranked yet. (1) QUITE A SIGHT has only lost once. She can be a big factor here starting from the inside. (8) PLAY THE BELL is a classy filly in her own right, but a smaller share seems likely starting from out there to kick off her season. (5) CARDIFF made a nice recovery after breaking as the big chalk Monday night, but these are much tougher, and a fringe placing is likely. Race 7 (7) SHADES OF BAY was visibly flying in the final 1/16th last week and if he's put into play earlier here, he should be very tough. (5) CHAMPAGNE PHIL didn't take long to turn things around at Mohawk Park and he should be right there again. (2) TRACEUR HANOVER was in some traffic in the lane last time, but that could get overplayed here if it gets air time on the pre-game show. He's a contender, but no lock. (4) PISTON BROKE is one that is always closing but rarely wins; use underneath. Race 8 (2) ROCK N FANTASY faces a much easier group here and he should get put into the race early by McClure; top call. (4) MITT JAGGER steps up but he's in great form and looks like the other main contender here. (3) LEAFS AND WINGS and (5) HES A SENSATION are two solid closers to use underneath here. Race 9 (2) EASY LOVER HANOVER is the king of this castle until someone knocks him off. (1) MCWICKED has the speed and talent to beat the choice, but he may need at least one start before showing his best. (7) ELLIS PARK can uncork wicked late kicks, but he can't seem to beat the choice; small share predicted. (4) ISITFRIDAYYET looked solid last week, but this is a different galaxy altogether and he'll have to prove he can go with these monsters. Race 10 (4) FREDDY BEAR was flying late last time, but the 1/9 winner and runner-up were long gone. He has a better shot here. (2) MAJOR LEGACY was a strong first up winner in his first try free-legged and he must be considered here. (6) HUDSON PHIL is better than he showed in his sophomore debut. I'll use him in the late Pick 4. (8) HUMBOLDT is likely better coming from off the pace and he should be closing for a slice here. (1) KAZIMOTO can get a decent following trip here and hit the bottom rung of the exotics. [DRF HARNESS NEWSLETTER: Sign Up for the FREE DRF Harness Newsletter.
