That was an improved effort and he should battle with (7) CAMMANDER RUFF here, who was also in the pace mix that race. (5) GREAT TUNE is interesting mostly because he goes for the Auciello barn for the first time here; consider for exotics. (4) WOODMERE VIOLATOR took a new life’s mark last time, but he’d need to drop about another five seconds to compete with the top two. Race 2 (2) ALEXUS EH had a perfect tightener for this on May 17th when driven conservatively from the 9-hole. She should be tough here. (1) MAGICAL LADY improved sharply last time. A repeat of that effort puts her right there vs. these. (5) MISS LOO LOO BELLE is another that has come around quickly, but she faced easier recently. (6) MISS MIMI may be over bet off her 2nd in the SBOA stakes when she had a great trip throughout. I’ll play to beat her. Race 3 (2) I C TRUE GRIT was in a bit of traffic until late last time. He fits well vs. these and gets top billing. (4) UNDRAFTED faces easier while in for a tag here and he should wakeup and produce a sharp effort. (6) REIKI will be a pace presence again and he’s hard to leave out. (8) NOW WHAT HANOVER has raced well for trainer/driver Ryan in two starts since the claim and he is worth a look for the exotics. Race 4 (2) PENZANCE HANOVER has been tussling with some North America Cup contenders recently, with little success. This field is much easier and he can pop here. (8) MCDAVE has been racing better since he started leaving a bit and he is a contender. (9) WILLEY BITE exits a very quick mile in which he gained ground late. He’s not impossible here. (4) FIRST CAR is a good one to use underneath in this spot. Race 5 (1) TWOFOURROADIE has been in great form at this meet and moving inside nine posts should allow him to beat at least a couple of these off the gate, which should make all the difference for him; top call. (3) ITS HALLRIGHT wasn’t disgraced racing against some of the best older trotting mares on the continent. She should be heard from here. (7) MYSTICAL MISSION was unlucky last time, running out of track while flying late. Watch for him late in the mile again. (5) FINISH LINE woke up with a much better effort last time and he could last longer here if he blasts to the front early. Race 6 (1) WANNA HALL had steering issues most of the way last time as he was bearing out most of the race and he still almost won while finishing in about the 10-path. If those issues are fixed, he should jog here. (9) BIGBOY ROSCO has raced well in every start this year and he can get a spot near the front early here and stick around for a share. (2) JAMMIN JACK is one of those Steacy pupils that pops and pays a square price in a race like this; beware. (3) ARABELLAS CADET was nailed late by a colt who came back and lost an OSS Gold race by an inch. She can better this placing if she stays flat. Race 7 (8) AVALANCHE HANOVER and (2) PRINCE GIOVANNI both move into top claiming barns here after being taken from their latest starts. Slight nod to the former, who will likely get better position early, but using both in the Pick 4s. (1) APHRO STAR can leave hard and trip-out near the front here. He also merits use in the Pick 4s as does (4) A BOY NAMED SUUUZZ, who exits a very fast mile for this class in which he chased the leader who was also the winner. Race 8 (2) SORCERESS SEELSTER was locked up tight deep in the lane last week. That should be a good prep for this OSS Gold race and she gets a slight nod over (1) KADABRA QUEEN, last year’s champion 2YO trotting filly, who is obviously a top contender but comes off a bout of sickness. (4) ILLUSIONEESTA was able to control things vs. a weak group in the SBOA final and while she’s a contender here, I wouldn’t take a short price. (3) APPRENTICE M should be able to follow and hit the Tri or Super here. Race 9 (6) SHOE SHINE draws a good post while shooting for two straight off the claim. He gets a slight nod over (5) MACH DÉJÀ VU, who was expected to challenge the choice last time but he blew up early. I’ll use him again here. Note: Roy was originally listed on both this one and the choice. (4) TOOT TOOT N might be the top pick if he didn’t show a vet scratch due to lameness following his two wins at Flamboro. He could still be in the mix. (7) CIONA BROMACH races fantastic for McNair and he merits consideration here for the exotics, at least. Race 10 This is typically the time of year when (5) CABERTOSS performs best – see his 1:54 flat mile here last year – and he could pop at a price. (1) THE ERM is in a better spot here and she’s capable vs. this kind. (10) FREE WILLY HANOVER takes another big drop and will be singled on many late Pick 4 tickets, but not mine with him starting from out there. (7) SHIVERED has raced okay for Macdonald in every start that he didn’t break, and he should hit the ticket here if he stays flat. (8) ADVERSITY steps up off a blowout win in an amateur drivers race. He is likely a fringe player.
