(2) LUCYS MAN was game in defeat from the worst post last time and he’s another I’ll use to kick the Pick 5 off. Race 2 (9) GOLD RUSH gets away from tough foe So Surreal here which makes him my top pick despite his post. (8) YACHT SEELSTER comes off a sharp win and he looks like the one to beat here. (7) MIDNIGHT MATT has been doing some good things on the B tracks and he’s not out of this contentious dash. (6) FAMILY SPORTS is worth a look for a trainer that can pop with a longshot. Race 3 (7) MANHATTAN AGAIN was sharp in her comeback race and the short field helps her. Expect McClure to move her earlier this time. (2) PEARL BLUE CHIP is obviously one of the best in here, but she could be slightly vulnerable having missed a week. (5) BLACK JACK PAT is capable but has had bouts of sickness recently. She is likely to finish on the edges here. (6) JUST HER LUCK was handcuffed racing behind a snail’s pace in London. She could do better here at a price. Race 4 (3) CAYO LOCO drops down one level and her big late kick can play well here. (1) WHISTYS PARADISE is another dropper who should make her presence felt in the stretch drive. (6) TWENTY THREE RED comes off a big effort for a hot barn; using. (7) MANHATTAN PLAY fires fast closing quarters every week. She should be in the mix here. Race 5 (3) HUDSON PHIL appears perfectly prepared for this Grassroots start by trainer Steacy; top call. (6) SHADOW OF LINDY tuned up for this with a good effort vs. a strong rival; contender. (8) ATOMIC SEELSTER gets driver Henry back here and he may offer a square price. He’s another in with a decent shot to hit the ticket. (5) MONTYS PLAY could wake up in this spot at a price after facing some tough company lately. Race 6 (7) SLIP INTO GLIDE comes up tagged after trotting a long mile vs. better. He should show more here and may even get sent hard off the gate; top call. (10) CARMENS FLUKE was an easy winner at this level last week despite missing a month of racing action. He’s hard to leave out, even from post 10. (3) BELLA PALAZZO is worth a look here coming off a solid closing effort. (5) STIRLING BOUDICA steps up off the claim and she will likely face some early heat on the lead this time; smaller share predicted. Race 7 (4) PHANTOM SEELSTER should go better in this field after a failed attempt vs. the swift Real Surreal last time and he should be plenty tight now. (1) DELOREAN SEELSTER has lots of speed, but he seemed to have issues getting aroud the London 1/2-miler last week. He can improve on the bigger track here. (9) MACHLICIOUS was one of the only horses closing ground in a rapid mile last time and he merits a look here. (3) THE DOWNTOWN BUS missed some time and may need this start. He can close for a smaller slice. Race 8 (3) KENDALL SEELSTER could only watch her arch-rival pace away in the lane after that one enjoyed a measured early pace at London, but she can beat this group if the intent is there. (2) RUBIS PRESCOTT is dangerous at this level and she should be an exacta factor. (8) BAROCKEY comes up tagged again, which is when she usually performs best; using. (4) AMERICAN SARA is sharp, but she will likely find this group a bit too tough. Still, she can hit the Tri or Super ticket. Race 9 (8) TASTE OF HISTORY gets Lasix for this and his race two starts back would likely be good enough to beat these; top call. (4) JM JACK OF HEARTS made several moves to win May 21st and he should be respected off that mile. (6) ROUNDTABLE is an interesting maiden that could add some value to the Pick 4 if he gets put into the race. (3) DENVER SEELSTER can close late for another smaller share here. Race 10 In a race where it seems one of many could win, I’ll take a swing with Steacy trainee (8) JOHNATHAN QUICK who had a decent tightener over the track and should offer a good price. (4) SPORTY MUSTANG has faced much better in his past three starts and he should be right there vs. these. (5) ROYAL COURTIER could improve sharply for trainer Budd here at a price; beware. (1) BRUNO FROM MARS is another who has been sharpened for this in several conditioned races and he could wake up here at a price. Race 11 (6) THE JOY LUCK CLUB was sensational last week and I’m not sure this group isn’t a bit easier on the surface; call to repeat. (3) P L HURRICANE is in with a shot if she can get a better trip near the front. (5) FIREBBY A is unbeaten in North America, but she has missed four weeks leading up to this which could be her undoing. (1) BETTORS UP hasn’t been used hard yet this year and she is obviously capable in this kind of company; your call. Race 12 (3) WINDSONGMAGNIFIQUE was a winner in this class recently and she looks okay based on her May 25th qualifier; slight nod. (4) AMERICAN CHEER was only a step short last week and she should be a big threat again despite moving up one class. (7) BERNADETTE is always dangerous with her good late kick and she’ll pass them all one of these weeks; maybe tonight? (9) PRETTY HOT steps back up off a narrow win, but she could close late for a smaller slice. (10) BAD NIGHT MARE is worth a look off the Auciello claim.
