Mohawk: Monday 9/2 Analysis

Race 4 - $75,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: BEE A MAGICIAN (6th)

Spot Play: GRAM RULES (5th)

Race 1

(10) MOMARA will have to overcome post 10, but she has a lot of talent for this class and is fresh off a victory from the outside post seven on a half mile oval. (5) ASTROGAL finished second in both her last two starts and has gate-speed. She's hit the board in her last three of four starts and comes from top connections. (3) PREMIO LOCO is a good option for third based on her record this season. She should provide a price.

Race 2

(1) SHADOWS WONDER draws inside and comes out of the Moore barn. She won last start and is capable of a repeat. (5) HIT IT BIG comes out of the Burgess barn and shows gate-speed. (6) SOMEBAYSOMEWHERE gets the Zeron/Menary combination and likely will offer a price. This is a tough race to predict with the potential of a high payout.

Race 3

(9) CAN ART is well-bred, comes out of McNair's barn and is fresh off a gate-to-wire score in her latest. (1) BROOKDALE SHADOW gets the rail and moves into Moore's barn. That's a solid final frame over Charlottetown's half mile oval. (3) SHES A HOTMAMA has hit the board in two of her last three starts and is versatile. She draws inside and continues to improve with each start.

Race 4

(1) NORTHERN SPARK gets the rail and has won two of his last three. He does move up in class, but that was an eye-catching victory last week. (5) BRUCE THE BRAVE doesn't like to win, but is a good option for second. He drops down in class and is very competitive in this class. (8) GUNGA WIN has won two straight and did so in impressive fashion. He moves up in class and has a terrific record this season.

Race 5

(10) GRAM RULES has won two straight on the front and is a top threat in this class. She'll have to overcome post 10, but is hard to overlook in here. (8) AN ANGEL SHES NOT moves into the O'Sullivan barn and that's the main reason for my selection. She should offer a price and hope to capitalize. (3) ITSA SURPRISE TOME made a miscue last week and recovered very well to finish fourth. She won the start prior and if she minds her manners, she's a contender.

Race 6

(11) BEE A MAGICIAN is a perfect 10-for-10 this season and is the queen of she division. Although she almost got beat last week, she's still the horse to beat here. (10) MOTOWN MUSCLE has terrific gate-speed along with a great record this season. She's yet to miss the board in all 10 starts. (2) TO DREAM ON draws inside and gets the Gingras/Takter combination. She hasn't put her best foot forward yet this season and will need a turnaround effort.

Race 7

(4) ALITTLEAINTENOUGH moves into the Johnson barn and that's the main reason for my selection. This horse finished a strong fourth last week from a post 10 start and is very capable of improving. (10) DAVIDS DREAM has been knocking on the door in recent weeks and has hit the board in six of eight starts. He's versatile and gets McNair in the bike. (5) FEEL THE BLUES is fresh off a win and moves up in class. He comes out of O'Sullivan's barn and the addition of lasix has appeared to help.

Race 8

(5) WHISKEY TAX went a tough trip from post 10 last week, parked the mile, to finish fourth. He's overdue for his first win this season. (9) ONTHEMONEYSIDE out forth a career best effort last start and is a top contender once again. He's very versatile and comes from a high percentage trainer. (6) QUICK DEAL made a miscue last week and drops in class. He has the speed and should benefit on the class drop.

Race 9

(1) I LUV THE NITELIFE has tasted defeat only once this season from 10 starts and gets the rail in here. She's the queen of this division until proven otherwise. (5) LOVE CANAL moves back into the O'Sullivan barn and has a good record this season and is very capable in this field. She draws well and enjoys racing off a helmet. (12) PAN LUIS OBISPO has really stepped up her game in recent starts with three terrific victories. She's missed the board once this season and gets the Waples/McIntosh angle on her side.

Race 10

(1) MELMERBY BEACH gets the rail and scored a convincing qualifying victory. He shows versatility and likely will be your favourite. (5) PERSPECTIVE qualified very well last week with a good final quarter. He enjoys leaving the gate and comes out of Alagna's barn. (7) DRAVEN SEELSTER should offer a fair price. He has the speed and the connections on his side.

Race 11

(3) UNCLE PETER is a top play in this race in my opinion. He raced in the Maple Leaf Trot, comes out of Takter's barn and has a terrific record this season. (5) CHARLIE IS A JOkER enjoys being put in the race and he should get that from McNair. He's hit the board in each of his last four starts. (1) WATKINS is consistent with these.

Race 12

(5) SKIPPIN BY has the speed to win this event and Boyd's barn has been doing very well this season. This filly is versatile and showed the speed required on this circuit just two starts back. (1) KISS ME OR NOT gets the rail and moves into O'Sulivan's barn. She finished second last start in this class and is capable of a repeat. (4) GIRLGOTMACHZIE moves into the Puddy barn and has hit the board in three of five starts this season. She should provide a price.
