International Moni worked out a perfect cover trip and rolled to victory in the C$251,000 Goodtimes final at Mohawk on Saturday night. The sophomore colt out of the great Moni Maker scored in 1:52 4/5 for driver Scott Zeron and trainer Frank Antonacci.

Longshots Southwind Cobra and AWOL Hanover mixed it up early, but it was 3-5 favorite Enterprise and driver Tim Tetrick taking control of the race just past the 28 second opening quarter. Tetrick was able to rate the unbeaten colt on the lead and reached the half in 56 1/5 with few challenges.

Entering the far turn Shake It Off Lindy moved without cover, and he was followed tightly by uncoupled stablemate International Moni. International Moni came wide into the homestretch following a 1:24 3/5 three quarters and quickly pounced on the favorite to take control, but Scott Zeron heard footsteps behind him in the form of 50-1 outsider Mass Production, driven by his father Rick, who made a close race out of it for second. Seven And Seven knifed between horses for third, with Enterprise tasting defeat for the first time in his six-race career in fourth.

"I was happy with the other Antonacci horse (Shake It Off Lindy) moving strongly without cover," said Scott Zeron following the race. "I thought he was going to win easily, and I left the plugs in, but when I heard my dad screaming I pulled them and he went on."

A son of the French stallion Love You, International Moni scored as the 5-2 second choice in the field of 10 for the Moni Maker Stable.
