Mohawk: Horses to watch from September 26 - September 30

Thursday, September 26

BLIXTRA (NW1/2YOF) Left, took a tuck, pulled to the half, brushed to the top, met pressure from the odds-on favorite and dug in gamely but just wasn't good enough. Should be tough on front end versus most.

STONEBRIDGE CLASSY (NW1/3YOF) Made a game three-move effort in last out only to be nailed on the wire by a fast closing fresher horse.

SHADOW BARON (CLM8000) Looked good winning on the front end in last and should be in the winners circle again real soon.

NOBLE JILLY (NW1/2YOF) Finished full of pace from an impossible spot in last effort and need only be closer heading home to gain the nod.

Friday, September 27

KINETIC KING (NW3) Kept coming from the back of the pace in game, determined score over the favorite and can repeat.

MODERN IMAGE (NW2FM) Had much too far to come in last but made a game rally through the lane to nail 3rd at 42-1.

ROBIN CRUISER (NW8000FM) Trailed passing the third panel, followed the wide flow and powered home in a quick :26 2/5.

LOCAL ART (NW4FM) Went down the road as far as she could in last only to be necked at the wire by the tripped out favorite and looms as a down the road winner in next race or two.

Saturday, September 28

FIRE ON THE WATER (NW5000) Beaten favorite was absolutely destroyed in last defending the front end on a foggy night in three way scrum to the top, finally yielded, stayed close to the lane but tired and deserves another shot.

BAY OF SHARKS (NW8000) This beaten favorite sat on the rail to the lane as the fog lifted, found a route between horses in the lane and finished well. Can atone in next with better trip.

BESTOFBEST HANOVER (PRF) Beaten favorite closed best of all but had to rally from 3rd over in short field. :25 last panel just wasn't enough.

CLIFF DRUMMOND (NW14000) Had a chance to pick up bigger check but the traffic congestion was just too much to weave through.

Monday, September 30

WACO BRUISER (OntS) Left well, took the lead, yielded, got shuffled to the three-hole when the winner brushed, got backed up badly in the final turn as the pocket horse gave way, slipped out, rallied well and nearly got there but had too much ground to make up.

MEETYOUATMIDNIGHT (2YO) Put a very game long uncovered effort challenging the last three-eighths and such determination will be rewarded soon.

DAYLON MIRACLE (NW13000) Rushed to the top, set a good clip on an open lead over a tiring track, weakened by early stretch, dug in as far as he could but could not last.

DUKE DID IT (CLMHCP8/10000) Sat pocket to the lane, rallied gamely but was outfinished. Should make his presence felt once again
