Mohawk: Horses to watch from September 12 - September 16

Thursday, September 12

LINDYS CREDITLINE (NW2) Came uncovered in last, ranged to the leaders, powered home strongest (at 34-1) in 3-horse scrum to the wire. Seems more than capable of a repeat.

NEGLIGENT HANOVER (NW2FM) She left, tucked early, got buried to the lane, slipped out, rallied stoutly to win going away and her connections have been known to string a few together.

R LIL KING (CLM8000) Was victimized by the trip in last and closed stoutly to be second best on the board and on the track.

MUSCLE MATTERS (2YO) Came uncovered the last three-eighths, chased the winner but could not dent the margin. Beaten favorite let the winner set the pace uncontested and that proved to be the losing move. Should atone in next with more aggressive drive.

Friday, September 13

LIFETIME JEWEL (NW3FM) Roared home very wide and very fast to from fifth over to gain the nod in last and should add another jewel to crown in next.

BODY BALANCE (NW2) Finished fast to get the nod in last and seems more than capable of a repeat.

THE SUMMER WIND (NW6000FM) Trailed to the stretch, hit the engine as she swung wide and closed stoutly. She should be more troublesome in the lane with a better trip.

NORVENA HANOVER (CLM8000FM) Followed wide, got stuck deep a long way, rallied gamely to get up for second and hold tenaciously.

Saturday, September 14

NORTHERN BULLET (NW3) Roared hom in last to win going away and should take another.

MANCHESTER HANOVER (NW5000) Finished with a flourish from and impossibly distant 5th over in last and need only get a better trip.

GRANDE SEELSTER (NW14000) Followed wide from the back as the outer flow had to clear a stalled uncovered horse and was moving well but too late.

TWIN B IMPRESSIVE (NW14000) Left to the top, yielded, got shuffled to the three-hole, lost any chance as the pocket horse backed up badly, wove around traffic in the lane, ducked in and finished well but had too far to come.

Monday, September 16

E L TITAN (2YO) Scurried quickly through the lane but this beaten favorite had much too far to come as the field chased a modest middle half.

GINGER GLIDE (NW2) Looked strong coming wide as the field turned home but blew the turn, broke, lost ground, settled, came on with an amazing finish and could get to the winners circle again if he minds his manners.

TOPCORNERTERROR (NW5000) Fanned widest from the moona nd closed well but had much too much ground to make up.

SMARTY PANTS (PRF) Stormed wide from the back of the pack, flew home and just missed catching the very tough winning favorite.
