Mohawk: Horses to watch from May 26 - May 30

Thursday, May 26

LINDWOOD BEACHGIRL (NW2FM) blew by winning as impressively as a .25 on the dollar favorite is supposed to win.

SMASH HIT (NW2) got shuffled in the final turn, tipped and closed with trot but the winner had gotten away.

GIRL DRAMA (CLMHCP12/15000) has had success in this barn and should improve steadily.

COLUMNIST (NW1FM) closed strong and just missed at 109-1.

UNICUM BI (NW2) broke before the start and missed the gate. Money was refunded but this one was going off the favorite.

Friday, May 27

DE VALERIA (CLMHCP10/15000FM) closed strong and was game from 3rd over chasing the pacesetting odds-on favorite to the wire and missed by a shrinking head.

RADIANT BEAM (NW2) set a good clip under the favored winner's pressure and gutted it out to the last steps.

PRINCESS CROWN (NW3) battled long pressure on the front end and was nailed by the pocket-sitting favorite.

RUBIS PRESCOTT (NW15000FM) finished full of pace (26 2/5) from an impossible spot in last and earns a look in next.

WILDCAT BEAUTY (NW3000FM) beaten favorite was nowhere to be seen until the stretch, then launched a big rally only to come up a bit short. Do not ignore in next race or two.

Saturday, May 28

HIS BOY ELROY (NW8500) finished full of pace from the back of the pack and ran out of track in last.

IDEAL JET (NW5000) grinded up uncovered a long way, rallied gamely but had too far to come and winning pacesetter refused to come back on a night when speed ruled. Beaten favorite can atone in next.

ADVERSITY (NW7000) trotter charged home with huge finish to nail the speed and win going away. Late closer was too impressive to not consider for another score.

CARRACCI HANOVER (NW14500) flashed some good late foot in last and will be tougher if closer heading home.

Monday, May 30

BOURBON SEELSTER (NW2FM) came home like a locomotive but had too far to come.

FIVE BELOW (NW7000) was out a long way, challenged the last quarter and tired. All this at 58-1 and you can expect more in near future.

OK ICEMAN (NW1) went down the road and was second best to late closing favorite.

SPORTS LIGHTNING (NW3000) tucked early, pulled to the half, challenged hard and held gamely but lost on the wire.

WARRAWEE ROO (NW2) wired the field impressively leaving from post nine and can take another.
