Mohawk: Horses to watch from July 8 - July 14

Tuesday, July 8

WEATHER HANOVER (NW2) was hopelessly buried on the rail in the last turn, rallied steadily finding a route, decided to go up the rail and closed gamely.

HERE COMES WILLIAM (NW2) was parked to the lead, hit the gas pedal, got away by big margin, appeared home midstretch but hit the wall. Should be able to hold it to the wire soon.

NOWUCIT NOWUDONT (NW9000) dropped and popped with front end effort and could be able to take another.

Thursday, July 10

LITTLE QUICK (CLM8000) saved to the final turn, tipped wide, rallied gamest and strongest picking them all off and can take another.

CAVIART GRIFFIN (NW1/3YO) put in one impressive effort in last getting parked the mile and challenging game to the wire. Beaten favorite had the excuse and will atone.

SAM (NW2FM) rallied gamely through the lane from an impossible spot and such determination should be rewarded soon.

AINTSHEASWEETIE (OntSS) made a costly break at the start and lost any chance. Filly finished full of speed and earns a look in next race or two.

Friday, July 11

REGIL MEG (NW2FM) was buried on the rail, tipped wide heading home, hit overdrive and passed a slew of foes in most recent outing.

SHESASTARREPORTER (OntSS) finished well along the rail in latest at 53-1 and earns a look next time she sets hooves on the track.

ITS NO SECRET (NW8000FM) rallied and just missed by a head. Beaten favorite should atone in next.

Saturday, July 12

PIERCE HANOVER (2YO) showed good speed to blast to the top, set a steady clip, seemed to be done heading home but dug in gamely. Speed and gameness in a 2YO are noted.

HOPE FOR PADDY (NW17500FM) was seemingly shuffled out of her last but tipped wide tipped wide heading home and closed a ton.

PISTON BROKE (PRF) closed in :25 to nail a game uncovered favorite and that explains that.

FOOL ME ONCE (NW14000) wired the field in quick order form the 10-hole and crushed the bias in the process.

BROCKS FORTUNE (NW9800) flashed speed to nail the lead, yielded, got shuffled back as the lead changed again, closed well to get up for second at 48-1 and earns some respect off the effort.

Monday, July 14

RANSOM DEMAND (NW1/3YO) was slow to find best stride as the winner got away. Hit a good pace early stretch and finished strong but this beaten favorite will have to wait for next time.

HAPPY BECKY (2YOF) grinded up uncovered as the speed got away. Hit overdrive early stretch and paced up a storm to win going away.

AUDREY PEARL (NW2) came home with good solid trot but had much too far to come.

MAJOR HOTTIE (NW5000) was parked to the lead, went down the road but was proven second best when the favorite nailed the win under the shadow of the wire.

BODY TALK (NW15000/3YO) may have lost just enough momentum in traffic in the final turn to cost the win.

SHAMBALLA (NW2) was simply awesome in very fast last panel (:25.4) to win going away crushing the variant and looming as short priced repeat winner.
