PAPER BACKED LINDY (NW2) Closed well once into the lane as he swung around dead cover but the winner had gotten away. Beaten favorite can atone in next.
NOBLE LOVER (NW1/3YO) Closed well but was necked at the wire but should be able to notch a score soon.
MRS BATTIN (NW2FM) Closed gamely but wasn't close enough or good enough at 30-1. She can beat her own kind with the right trip.
CHARMNG DREAM (NW1/3YO) Should have no trouble repeating judging by the easy score in last--a down the road romp.
Friday, July 27
TOUCHDOWN TOSS (OntS) Launched a Hail Mary rush as the clock ran down but ran out of track.
DONT POINT AT (GIRLSNIGHT) Had too far to come but this beaten favorite was best in the late stages.
NINA COLEADA (GIRLSNIGHT) Prohibitive but beaten favorite was in a bad position turning home. Had too much ground to make up.
EXQUISITE ALBERTA (GIRLSNIGHT) Stamped herself as one of the ladies to beat in the series with a convincing going away score in her division of first round action.
Saturday, July 28
ROCK ME AMASTREOS (NW14000) Finished widest and gamest from the back of the pack to nail it on the wire. Should continue to be a threat.
LIFEOFTHEOLDBOY (CLMHCP20/25000) Finished well but was unable to bet to the favorite. He figures to earn a win or two in near future.
STONEBRIDGE TERROR (NW8000) Beaten favorite had a long way to come and rallied wide with good pace but was outkicked. Can atone with better trip.
MICHAELS POWER (OntS) Won easily and should continue to impress.
Monday, July 30
WHEELING N DEALING (BRIDGER) Brushed to the lead coming to the half in his Bridger division and that was that.
WINBAK SULLIVAN (BRIDGER) Sat pocket in his division of the Bridger and closed strongly to win going away.
TERCO CORAZON (NW2) Rallied gamely through the lane to just miss a tiring leader over a speed favoring track.
HERE COMES NUMBERS (NW24000) Rallied gamely through the lane to just miss the favorite at the wire and earns a look in his next.

Any of LOGAN STREET's last three races at Gulfstream are good enough to overhaul these, the latest against 1-2 Big John B in a richer "beaten" claimer; good spot for first local outing. CHARDSEY rallied smartly from the back of the pack to be a clear second behind front-running Yo Blue under these conditions May 5; having a recent race over the course can't hurt. BARZINI and QUIET DANGER come off wire-to-wire maiden wins and could conceivably cancel themselves out battling for the lead.
