Mohawk: Horses to watch from July 20 to July 25

Monday, July 20

RUSTY OVERLOAD (NW2) the question is whether he can do it again. He charged fast and strong from far back to win going away in last effort and is hard to look past in next.

FEELING CAM LUCKY (NW2) left for a tuck, pulled early, brushed to the top, yielded, sat pocket, rallied all out but faltered in the lane. Do not ignore this 3YO.

DOMEDOMEDOME (NW3) put in another game performance coming uncovered and testing the odds-on favorite only to be second best. Should get there in next.

BAX OF LIFE (NW19000) closed strong in last and just missed. Always a threat and ever a presence.

Tuesday, July 21

LOOKSLIKEACHPNDALE (NW2) beaten favorite was looped to the lead, rallied a long way uncovered, challenged to the stretch and tired.

REASONABLE FORCE (NW4000) had the distinction of being the only wire to the wire winner last time out and was hard pressed in the early going. Put away the challenger and was not in doubt.

WEB CAM (NW4000) was behind an early breaker chasing a fast clip, lost some ground, rallied a long way, had to go wide in the final turn and tired. Beaten favorite might be luckier in next.

WALK THE PLANK (NW2) brushed to command coming to the half, went along at a good clip and tired in the lane to lose by a stubborn length. All this at 35-1 over a tiring track and he deserves another look.

IDEAL SHADOW (CLMHCP25/35000) set the pace on his own and tired. Beaten favorite looked confident all the way and was beaten more by the track than the fresh pocketsitter.

Thursday, July 23

POWERFUL GLARE (OntSS) was parked the mile, pressed the pace and dug in gamely to the last step. Some racing luck should be all she needs.

MURS SON (NW1/23YO) beaten favorite made three moves and earns a long look. Should be along in time next race or two.

DELIRIUM (CLM15000FM) was parked to the lead in last and it only got worse. He was hard used taking an early beating from determined parked out foe, put that one away and met a two-pronged challenge in the final turn before giving way in the lane.

JET HOT STUFF (CLMHCP8/10000FM) rallied late and got up for second in last at 20-1. Could get luckier in near future.

Friday, July 24

LIGHTS GO OUT (NW9000FM) he knocked them all out in last with amazing rally through the lane to win going away and has to be considered for a repeat.

GRACIES PARADE (NW2FM) showed her mettle in last with good rally through the stretch. Well connected miss will be a threat for some races to come.

MUCH ADOO (OntSS) there is just something that happens to a horse when a Zeron gets in the bike that makes them a stretch threat on a regular basis.

HOPE FOR PADDY (NW9000FM) rushed home to win going away. Winning favorite can take another with right trip.

MAPLELEA (OntSS) scored handily with Rick Zeron in the bike and has to be given strong chance to take another.

Saturday, July 25

WINDSONG LEO (OntSS) left, tucked, got shuffled, pulled, brushed, yielded again, pulled, challenged and tired. Three move horses earn their fair share of races.

O U SEZY GUY (NW7500) sat buried at the back, tipped heading home, swung wide but super finish but the winner had gotten the jump on him.

STAR COVER (OntSS) left to the top, yielded and was shuffled, got back to the pocket in the final turn. Seemed to be willing but too much traffic to clear to give his best effort.

JUSTALITTLEFASTER (NW4000) name says most of it but perhaps just a little bit closer when he rallied might be more precise.
