Mohawk: Horses to watch from August 8 - August 12


Thursday, August 8

ALERTHEMEDIA (OntSS) Followed wide around a dead piece in last, stayed deep a long way, rallied gamely and could be quite tough with better trip.

WESLYNN ESCAPE (OntSS) Sat buried to the lane, slipped clear and closed a ton but the favored winner winner had gotten away.

SAM ALEXIS (NW2FM) Was parked a long way in last, challenged hard to the third panel before folding and can surprise in next race or two.

ZENOBIA BLUE CHIP (2YOF) Rushed to the top, yielded, got shuffled a bit to the three-hole, tipped heading home,rallied for the win and was game enough to indicate she can do it again.

Friday, August 9

LYONSPARKHAVENLAKE (OntSS) Lost his chance when forced wide while starting his rally.

BLUE CHIP SUNSHINE (CLMHCP15/20000) Fanned very wide through the lane and finished with a full head of steam in last outing and cannot be ignored.

OAKLEA UPTOWN (NW5000) Was parked, rated early, rallied coming to the half, challenged uncovered to the late stages before running out of gas in most recent and deserves a long look in next.

DULL ROAR (OntSS) Beaten favorite in his Grassroots division had too far to come in last but made a determined late rally indicating atonement is right around the corner.

Saturday, August 10

WINNING DREAM (NW5000) Won from the pocket in last, first off the claim and did it so easily, you can expect more.

IDEAL RACE (NW8000) Refused to go away quietly making a determined bid from the pocket but the favored winner was able to hold on.

BAROCKEY (NW6300FM) Took the drop and then took the gold in impressive front end score. She can take another.

KINDLY POET (NW8000) Rallied from Mars coming wide from 5th over in last and the :26.2 last panel has to be respected.

Monday, August 12

BWT TAJ (NW2) Left well, tucked, pulled past the half, rushed up uncovered, challenged to the lane, took a short lead but tired. Can make the same move and win most times.

V I P BAYAMA (NW8000/2YO) Youngster came uncovereed, rallied steadily at 21-1 and closed in late to wear down the speed but was second to the pocket horse.

BEACH BUFF (NW5000) Took a quick tuck around slow leavers, saved to the lane improving along the rail, tipped, finished very fast to win going away and earning another look in next outing.

TAKE MY PICTURE (PRF) Tucked quickly, pulled to the half, chased the well bet pacesetting winner but was second best on the board and on the track while showing enough determination to keep an eye on.
