Mohawk: Friday 7/26 Analysis

Race 4 - $75,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: SOMEWHERE IN L A (2nd)

Spot Play: SOUTHWIND MIAMI (4th)

Race 1

(1) WINDSONG IDOL draws inside and is due for a win at this level. She should offer a fair price and this is a lighter field than she's used to. (8) NORTHERN BULET hasn't been at his best in his last two starts, but has been terrific prior. I'm looking for a rebound effort. (5) MUSCLE MAX draws well and has displayed the trot to hit the board in here. He should provide a price.

Race 2

(6) SOMEWHERE IN L A raced very well in his last two starts and comes out of the McIntosh barn. He continued to drop time and is due for his first career win. (3) VANCE BAYAMA was timed in 1:53 3/5 in his career debut. A repeat effort makes him a top contender. (9) SPECIAL JACKPOT comes out of the Coleman barn and that can't be overlooked. He's got the breeding and is capable in here.

Race 3

(7) ARTOMATIC LOVE has a good record this season and has been knocking on the door in recent outings. I hope she's put into the race like last week. (3) MATTYS BIG DAY draws well and has only missed the board once in eight career starts. She closed very well last week from a post 10 start. (1) WILDCAT HANNA gets post relief and faces a much easier bunch compared to her last two starts. She's a good option for the triactor.

Race 4

(3) SOUTHWIND MIAMI has a terrific record so far this season, draws well and has been racing very well on this circuit. I think she'll be very competitive in this series. (5) BOAT HOUSE ROW came from off-the-pace last week to finish second, beaten a head for the win. Her 1:51 4/5 mile time should be quick enough for the exactor. (1) INSINCERITY gets the rail and comes out of Moreau's barn. She'll have to step up, but I wouldn't overlook the Moreau angle.

Race 5

(5) FLASHBACK came first-over last week and scored a hard-fought win. He enters the Gallucci barn and remains at the same class. (6) ROLANDS SEEHORSE was also claimed last start and enters the Puddy barn. He raced very well to finish second and has finished second in three of his last four starts. (7) ILL BE THERE has hit the board in four of his last five starts. He's got a good record this season and draws better.

Race 6

(5) JENNA CASIMIR drops in class and that's the main reason for my selection. Also Nixon is a very capable trainer. I'm overlooking her last race due to the post 10 start. (8) EAT ME UP is fresh off a win, moves up in class, but comes out of the McMaster barn. A repeat effort makes her a top threat. (10) PARLEE BEACH needed racing room last week and didn't get it. She hasn't started off the season the best and will need a turnaround performance.

Race 7

(6) BETIT TO GETIT has won two straight and most recently in this class. She draws better and has a terrific record this season. (9) PERTTY MUSIC faces an easier bunch than she's raced against in her last two starts. I hope she's put into the race by McNair. (10) WESTERN EMPRESS has hit the board in her last two of three starts. She closed very well last week and gets the McIntosh/Waples combination.

Race 8

(2) BEE FULLOF STEINAM draws well and is fresh off a win. She exploded off cover and that win sets her up well in this series. (3) MISTY MOONSTONE draws well and this is a wide-open race. She has the speed, but will need a trip. (1) MIA SEELSTER gets the rail, has gate-speed and although she doesn't like to win, she's a good option for the triactor.

Race 9

(5) RENEWAL NOTICE has missed the board just once from seven starts this season. He won last week in this class and once again is very capable. (7) LADY LAKER has trotted a pair of very strong miles in her last two starts. Her 1:54 lifetime best taken last week shouldn't get overlooked. (3) BODY BALANCE draws well, comes out of Maxwell's barn and can handle the jump in class. He has the speed and the breeding.

Race 10

(1) SOME MAJOR BEACH is a brother to the great Somebeachsomewhere. He gets the rail and raced very well in his first career start. He can only be better this week. (3) GLORY BEACH qualified very well both times and won by 14 lengths in his most recent. He appears ready to drop major time. (5) SWISS BANK HANOVER was timed in 1:53 2/5 last week. A repeat effort should be quick enough to hit the board.

Race 11

(5) FERRARI STENA hasn't missed the board yet this season. She comes out of Moreau's barn, which will only decrease her value and has shown enough speed in her last two starts on this circuit. (7) CAMS VAN GO comes out of O'Sullivan's barn and was timed in 1:50 4/5 last week. That type of effort makes her a top threat in here. (4) JONSIE JONES has been racing at her best in recent weeks and should be able to handle the transition onto this circuit. She has an excellent record this season and may offer a fair price.

Race 12

(2) D GS TINKERBELL was the favourite last week and failed to win. She drops in class and certainly has the class to win. (7) B R LUCKY LADY has hit the board in each of her last three starts. She likely will offer a price, but her 1:56 4/5 effort over Dresden is a serious mile. (1) A SPECIAL LADY put in a sub-par effort last start. She hit the board in her two previous starts, both in this class.
