Mohawk: Friday 6/6 Analysis

Race 4: $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet: EINSTEINS BEST (9th)

Race 1

(5) ADAYMER SEELSTER raced very well in her most recent start following a layoff. She has some back class to offer and has proven to be a threat at this bottom-end claiming level in the past. (9) CHERYLS SURPRISE returns to this level following a pair of third-place finishes at the bottom-end condition classes in her last two. She will look for a cleaner trip from post nine as she’s been parked on the outside past the opening quarter in each of her last three appearances. (7) DEAR ARYSS has been a consistent threat at this level for many weeks. Christoforou returns to the bike tonight and he knows this pacing miss very well.

Race 2

(7) PERFECT ALLIANCE set a world record with her 1:51 2/5 effort in her latest start in the Miss Versatility. That courageous effort marked her first start against the top aged trotting mares in North America and she rose to the occasion. (5) BAX OF LIFE draws well in here and posted a very credible time of 1:52 2/5 in her latest effort despite finishing fifth to race winner Perfect Alliance. (4) MA CHERE HALL made a miscue two back, but rebounded nicely last start to finish fourth with a :27 kicker on the end. I think she will be even better this week and enjoyed a very successful campaign last season as a sophomore.

Race 3

(1) BEE A MAGICIAN went a sizzling mile in her latest considering it was her first start of the season. It was her first loss since Oct. 27, 2012 after going a perfect 17-for-17 last season (2) CLASSIC MARTINE captured her division of the Miss Versatility in her latest by open lengths with a solid final frame. (6) DORSAY has returned this season in top form following a pair of third-place finishes in her two 2014 starts.

Race 4

(1) GREYSTONE LADYLIKE posted a very encouraging qualifier and will aim to regain top form from last season. She was a top threat on this circuit at the highest level last year, but has tailed off into the bottom classes. (5) M G JADE doesn’t like to win with her 0 for 16 record this season, but is a logical option to use for the exactor. (4) PUTMEINTOGO hasn’t been racing at her best in recent starts, but has provided a terrific final quarter in each of her last two.

Race 5

(5) FLYHAWK EL DURADO enters the Gillis barn following an open length win at Tioga Downs. He has been racing very well in his three starts this season, shows a lot of versatility and draws a good post. (10) SO NOT COOL has been rising to the occasion in each of his last two starts to score impressive wins. (8) ENTRANCED has only missed the board once from five starts this season and certainly has the speed for this elimination. He probably has the quickest gate speed in the field and that may come into play.

Race 6

(8) MEETYOUATMIDNIGHT was a winner last week at this level at odds of 6-1. He was due for a victory for trainer Gillis and will look to continue his winning ways. (1) MONTEZUMA BLUE CHIP continues to offer a low price in this class and finished a game second last week behind MEETYOUATMIDNIGHT. (7) BUTTON FLY has been racing competitively at this level for many weeks and comes out of the Auciello barn.

Race 7

(4) DREAMFAIR ECLIPSE is my longshot play of the night. Fletcher’s barn has been excellent this season and this daughter of Camluck gets much needed post relief. (8) RUB N TUG finally got the monkey off her back last week with a winning performance. She did all the work on the front-end en route to victory. (7) FOOLISH MIND was a game third in her most recent start for driver Hudon. She provided a nice price at 29-1 and closed well with her best final quarter in recent weeks.

Race 8

(5) TRIXTON comes from Takter’s barn, has won three of four starts this season and was sensational in his latest effort at The Meadowlands. (9) HARPER BLUE CHIP banked just shy of $200K last season and has come back in top form so far with his pair of winning qualifiers. (7) SPEAK THE TRUTH trotted a pair of sub-1:55 miles in each of his last two and gets Tetrick in the bike.

Race 9

(1) EINSTEINS BEST has won four of five starts this season, including an impressive win last week at this level. (2) HOPE FOR BADLANDS has been racing at his best early in his career and continues to improve in each outing. (9) REGAL SON doesn’t like to win, but has hit the board in six of eight starts this season for trainer McIntosh.

Race 10

(4) PERMORMING ART qualified back twice with an impressive score in her most recent in 1:52.4. She draws well and looks capable of improving off that speedy qualifier. (6) RAVISHNMASTERPIECE is just 1 for 14 in the win column this season, but has been racing very competitively at this level for many weeks. She entered the Boyd barn not long ago and results have been terrific. (1) WILDCAT BEAUTY looks like a player from the inside post.

Race 11

(8) REBEKA BAYAMA certainly hasn’t been on her game this. She’s the class of this field, but will need a much improved effort. (9) CANT STOP ROCKIN moves into the Ellis barn and has been racing much better in each of her last two starts. (3) MY SECRET BELLE gets major class relief in here and doesn’t have to face the likes of Major Dancer and Nat A Virgin. Post three is an excellent spot for her and she was clocked in a good time last start.

Race 12

(8) WORLD PEACE has been a convincing winner in each of his last two starts at Flamboro and looks like he’s ready to tackle horses on this circuit. (1) GRAND REWARDS is my pick for second based on his latest qualifying line. He raced in the OSS Gold series last season, so the connections thought enough of him. (6) OPENING LINE has hit the board in two of his last three starts and closed very strong last week with a :27 final frame.
